Chapter 70 The Way of the Internet
Chapter 70 The Way of the Internet
The Web is a network of interdimensional passageways built by the Old Ones and still in use by the Eldar. It lies between the real universe and the warp, allowing passage through warp storms and demonic invasions, and enabling faster-than-light interstellar travel.
Levi, Magnus, and Ahriman were enveloped in powerful psionic shields to protect themselves as they explored the fragmented, spacetime-distorted web before them.
This web passage is the sleeping lair of the Slaanesh demon, which has long been completely corrupted by chaotic energy.
This is also the question that Li Wei has been unable to figure out: what kind of demon is sleeping on the planet Agoru?
After all, separated by a nearly broken net, even Li Wei's all-seeing eyes couldn't see clearly.
The original scene was no longer visible. Turbulent warp energy was raging wildly throughout the passage, but it was precisely because of the colorful reflections of warp energy that Li Wei was able to see the intermittent network of tunnels in the pitch black.
Above Li Wei, there was a well-preserved net, with a crystal-clear spiritual bone texture and a pale blue luster flowing across its surface, while below him was a bottomless void.
Just as Li Wei was looking around, Magnus, enveloped in a crimson psionic shield, pointed to a relatively intact passage ahead and excitedly said:
"Li Wei, Ahriman, you see, the structure here is still relatively intact. With a little repair, this place can serve as a secret transit station for the Thousand Sons, allowing them to quickly cross the galaxy for maneuvering."
"Your Excellency is absolutely right. If the repairs are successful, Qianzi's interstellar mobility will increase several times over." Since recovering from his severe injuries in the Carmenka system, Ahriman's personality has become increasingly calm and taciturn, as if it were due to the damage to his very essence.
"Ariman is right, but the Net Path is too mysterious and likely difficult to repair. Moreover, that evil god may still be watching this place. Using this place as a base is definitely not a good thing!"
Li Wei said in a deep voice. He first affirmed Ahriman's judgment, then changed the subject and pointed out the potential threat of the evil god.
Ahriman nodded in agreement; he was one of the few core members of the Thousand Sons Legion who knew of the existence of the evil god.
Especially after he led the Thousand Warriors of the First Society to defend the mine entrance and held off the orc army with his life, Livi and Magnus told Ahriman some secrets.
Magnus, however, was somewhat unwilling. He frowned, and just as he was about to say something, he suddenly received a psionic communication. He paused, then said helplessly:
"It seems we've wasted too much time on Agoru. Space Wolves and Death Guard are urging us to head to the Ark Edge Cluster."
"Huh?" Li Wei was taken aback. Didn't he remember that the Space Wolves and the Legion of Word Bearers were fighting against the Ark Edge Cluster?
How did it turn into Space Wolves and the Death Guard Legion?
After a moment, he suddenly remembered that he had long ago changed the Legion of the Word Bearers.
Luo Jia is most likely currently leading the Legion of Word Bearers across the galaxy to promote his new doctrines, and has no time to engage in joint operations with other legions, so this mission has fallen to the Death Guard.
Li Wei felt a headache coming on when he thought about the new doctrines being promoted by Luo Jia. He had learned everything from the Star Language Hall intelligence network of the Thousand Sons Legion.
Luo Jia stopped promoting the contents of the "Sacred Words" and stopped promoting the emperor as an omniscient and omnipotent deity.
He's now become a professional charlatan, going around to his brothers, promoting a quick way to become a god, guaranteed to teach and teach.
Unfortunately, no Primarch agreed with Luo Jia's outlandish theory of becoming a god. Some Primarchs even fought with Luo Jia because they were entangled in that nauseating power of faith and felt disgusted and irritable.
What's outrageous is that Luo Jia, wielding the scepter of faith forged by Eribas, beat all the Primarchs who came to cause trouble to near death in just a few exchanges.
After those proud and arrogant Primarchs were defeated by the once weakest Luo Jia, some gritted their teeth and accepted their defeat, some harbored resentment, and many more went to their parents.
They jointly petitioned the Emperor, accusing Luo Jia of violating imperial truths, promoting deities, and openly challenging the Emperor's authority, demanding that the Emperor punish him.
As more and more Primarchs began to file complaints, the Emperor, who had been indifferent to the matter, finally reacted, but issued an incomprehensible decree.
They proclaimed that under the Empire's truth, the strong are respected, and whoever can defeat Luo Jia is qualified to discipline him.
Under this policy of appeasement, Loka became even more unscrupulous, chasing after the Primarchs across the galaxy to spread his doctrines and establishing "Primarch Temples" on various conquered planets, widely proclaiming that the Primarchs were born gods.
......
As Levi, Magnus, and Ahriman emerged from the shattered net tunnel and stepped out of the Devil's Cave entrance, they discovered that the advance scouts sent by Space Wolf had already arrived.
A pack of space wolves clad in iron-gray power armor are locked in a tense standoff with Terminator warriors from Magnus's Scarab Order, neither side willing to yield.
Upon seeing the true form of the Thousand Sons, they immediately tore through the Thousand Sons' psionic barrier and angrily demanded an explanation from Magnus: why had he delayed the Empire's military affairs and refused to send troops to participate in the joint suppression?
As expected of a savage wolf from Fenris, its mouth was like a little firecracker, spewing filth indiscriminately. But when someone in the Space Wolf team shouted the words "Red-skinned Wizard".
The Thousand Sons of the Scarab Order, who had been restraining themselves, could no longer hold back and immediately raised their bomb guns.
They were Magnus's most loyal guards, and to them, humiliating Magnus was more unbearable than their own deaths.
Even Magnus, with his good temper, was angered to the point of turning pale by the Space Wolf Warrior's foul language, but he couldn't let Qianzi fire first. Although Qianzi had his reasons, he had indeed delayed the joint operation, and Qianzi was in the wrong.
The next second, he suddenly released his Primarch-level psionic pressure, and all the Astartes warriors present, except for Ahriman and Levi who were still able to stand calmly, were instantly immobilized as if they were carrying a mountain weighing tens of thousands of tons.
Li Wei observed silently, his gaze mostly fixed on the Space Wolf warrior draped in a wolf-skin cloak.
Although the Space Wolf Warrior was also firmly suppressed by the psionic pressure, he was able to barely turn his head and stare intently at Magnus, letting out a low growl of resentment.
Looking at the arrogant Space Wolf warrior and the rune markings on his body, Li Wei knew that this was a "Rune Priest," a psionic warrior from the Space Wolf's think tank unit.
He recalled that Space Wolf was the first to explicitly reject the Thousand Sons Think Tank's training assistance program during the wave of think tank construction across the entire legion.
Fortunately, the Space Wolves were quite considerate and explained the reason out of brotherhood: they had a runic priestly psychic energy system inherited from their home planet Fenris, and did not need Thousand's training.
The second group to explicitly refuse was the Death Guard, which utterly despises psionic powers. They didn't even offer any explanation before shutting their doors to visitors, refusing to let the Thousand Sons Think Tank set foot in their territory.
The Thousand Sons had also incurred the wrath of these two legions. Li Wei wondered what the Emperor was thinking, not afraid that three legions with completely opposing psionic stances would clash together.
