How did things change in this lifetime?
Then Vegeta pressed Whis for details about what he was going to do.
Weiss said he was going to see Sun Wukong.
Vegeta didn't think much of it at the time and just nodded—after all, Beerus had already said that the five-man match would include Kakarot, and he had no objection to that.
However, after Whis left, Vegeta felt increasingly uneasy, as if a stone was pressing on his chest, and an ominous premonition grew wildly like vines.
Why did Weiss contact Kakarot? Besides asking him to participate in the competition, could there be something else going on?
Once the thought arose, it could no longer be suppressed. Vegeta immediately set off, transforming into a golden light and flying towards Goku's home.
Upon arrival, Vegeta witnessed Whis taking Kakarot away from Earth.
"Huh? Vegeta?" Goku's eyes widened in surprise, and he moved his hand off Whis's back and waved at him.
"Hello, Uncle Vegeta." Gohan greeted him with a gentle smile.
"Uncle Vegeta, didn't Trunks come along?" Goten tilted his head, twirling his tail with his fingers, his tone innocent and carefree.
Videl hid behind Gohan, only her bright black eyes showing, her little hands tightly gripping the hem of Gohan's clothes.
Isn't that the uncle with the pointed hair?
What is he here for?
Why do I always feel a faint sense of tragedy surrounding him whenever I see him?
Vegeta didn't answer Goten's question. His gaze was fixed on Whis like a sharp sword, and his voice was deep and rumbling: "You're not going to take Kakarot to train, are you?"
“Yes, that is indeed my plan.” Vesta nodded readily, the scepter twirling gently between his fingertips.
"Take me with you." Vegeta stepped forward, his battle suit taut with the movement, outlining the lines of his muscles.
Weiss: "..."
Weiss was silent for two seconds, then chuckled and said, "Alright, let's do it together."
Vegeta was delighted, his tense jawline softened slightly, and he immediately walked behind Whis, imitating Goku by placing his hand on Whis's back.
“Then, let’s go!” Weiss said, tapping his scepter lightly on the ground once more.
A dazzling burst of light surged forth like a tide, instantly enveloping the three of them and enveloping their figures.
"call out!"
A dazzling burst of light shot into the sky, carrying Goku and Vegeta into a bright streak of light that broke through the clouds and soared into the vast starry sky, disappearing into the azure horizon in the blink of an eye.
"What incredible speed!" Sun Wukong looked down and saw that the Earth had turned into a blue glass bead. He couldn't help but marvel, "We can't even see the Earth anymore."
"Hmph, you're making a fuss over nothing." Vegeta snorted coldly, but his gaze involuntarily swept over the stars below.
Weiss's face was expressionless, his silver eyelashes casting faint shadows under his eyelids, as if he had long been accustomed to it all.
A brief silence spread across the starry sky, broken only by the faint sound of air currents rubbing together.
“Speaking of which, Mr. Vegeta,” Whis suddenly spoke, his tone tinged with a hint of感慨 (gǎnkǎi, a complex emotion encompassing regret, admiration, and a sense of loss).
Vegeta raised an eyebrow, turned his head to look at Whis, his pupils sparkling in the starlight.
“I’ve made it very clear before that even if you continue to train with me, you won’t make much progress.” Whis’s voice carried a hint of seriousness. “Mr. Vegeta would be better off training with Lord Beerus. Perhaps he can advance to a higher level.”
"I know, but the time isn't right yet." Vegeta nodded heavily, his clenched fist betraying his inner resentment.
"So, why did Mr. Vegeta come along?" Whis asked with a smile.
"There's no great reason, I just wanted to see how Kakarot trains." Vegeta turned his face away, his tone indifferent, as if he were talking about something trivial.
Sun Wukong pointed to his nose and looked at Vegeta with a confused expression.
Why do you want to watch me cultivate?
Isn't it better to cultivate yourself?
However, Sun Wukong didn't say much. Instead, he rubbed his hands together, his face showing an expectant expression, his eyes shining like two stars.
"Mr. Weiss, is that Galactic Patrolman you mentioned really that strong?" Sun Wukong leaned forward excitedly, his tone full of eagerness.
"Galaxy Patrol?" Vegeta was taken aback, his brows furrowing instantly.
So, Whis is going to take Kakarot to find Mels.
“I’ve met Mr. Vegeta before; his name is Merus,” Whis answered with a smile, the crystal at the tip of his staff shimmering gently.
"Vegeta, so you've met this Galactic Patrolman Merus before." Goku turned to Vegeta, his eyes wide. "So, have you two sparred?"
Vegeta's face instantly turned ugly, as if he had been doused with a bucket of cold water, and the air pressure around him seemed to drop several degrees.
"Looks like I already know the answer." Sun Wukong scratched his head and chuckled twice.
Vegeta: "..."
Did this guy do it on purpose?
"When did this happen?" Sun Wukong asked again, his curiosity undiminished.
“Seven years ago.” Whis smiled, his tone light and casual, yet it felt like a needle pricking Vegeta’s heart.
"Huh? It's been so long already." Goku opened his mouth in surprise, then subconsciously looked at Vegeta with a hint of sympathy in his eyes.
Vegeta's face darkened, and a vein throbbed on his forehead.
Stop staring at me all the time!
What do you want me to do?
Look at the stars!
Aren't there enough stars in this universe for you to see?
"Hmph, after seven years of hard training, I will definitely defeat that guy named Merus this time." Vegeta clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white, his face filled with unwavering confidence.
Weiss: "..."
Weiss sighed softly, his silver eyelashes drooping even lower. He said nothing, but the light on the scepter dimmed slightly.
Ten minutes later.
Sun Wukong suddenly pointed ahead, his eyes wide open: "Wow! What's that?"
A large space station appeared in front of the three of them. Its metal shell gleamed with a cold, hard luster under the starlight. Its complex structure resembled a giant honeycomb, which made Sun Wukong marvel.
Because Sun Wukong felt that he had been to this area in a previous life.
But in my previous life, there was no space station here at all.
As expected, the world after my rebirth was completely different.
"call out!"
Whis led Goku and Vegeta straight towards the space station, slipped through an open window, and went directly into Merus's room.
As Mels was wiping his scepter, he froze when he saw Weiss, his lips moved, and he almost called out "brother."
However, Weiss gave him a timely look, stopping him.
"Ah... hello, Mr. Whis, Mr. Vegeta..." Merus quickly corrected himself, his gaze falling on Goku with a hint of doubt, "And this is...?"
"boom!"
Suddenly, Weiss struck Mels on the head with his scepter, making a crisp sound.
Mels rubbed his head, wincing in pain, and looked at Weiss with a bewildered expression.
No, Brother Weiss, you hit me as soon as we met?
Did I do anything wrong?
"Let me introduce you, this is Mr. Sun Wukong." Weiss pointed to Sun Wukong, his tone returning to its usual calm.
"Ah...you must be Merus." Sun Wukong immediately stepped forward and warmly extended his hand. "Whis said you're very strong."
Mels forced a smile, and although he held Sun Wukong's hand, his gaze was still fixed on Whis, his eyes filled with "What did I do wrong?"
"When Mr. Goku and the others fought against Majin Buu in the Supreme Kai's World, there were such large energy fluctuations. Didn't Mr. Merus sense them?" Whis suddenly put on a serious face and spoke with a hint of sternness.
Mels quietly wiped the sweat from his brow and quickly replied, "I was probably in space capturing the Saganbo bandit gang at the time... so I probably didn't notice these things."
"You should always pay attention to the movements of the universe, so that it will have a good effect on your training," Weiss instructed slowly, tapping the ground lightly with the tip of his staff.
"Yes, I understand." Mels lowered his head, inwardly complaining.
I am currently only undergoing training as a human, how could I possibly sense the situation in the Supreme Kai's realm?
If I had carried the scepter with me, I might have sensed it much earlier.
Vegeta: "..."
Vegeta felt increasingly uneasy as he watched the scene unfold before him.
How come after being reborn, Weiss is now training with this Mels?
It seems that Mels is Weiss's true apprentice.
Neither I nor Kakarot count?
"Mr. Whis brought them here because..." Merus quickly changed the subject, his gaze darting back and forth between Goku and Vegeta as he asked curiously.
"It's nothing. I just brought you an opponent so you two can have a good spar." Weiss said with a smile and a relaxed tone.
"Is this Mr. Sun Wukong?" Mels then looked Sun Wukong up and down, his eyes filled with assessment.
“Yes,” Weiss nodded.
“Then… come with me to the training room, let’s spar over there.” Mels put away his scepter and gestured for me to proceed.
"Okay." Sun Wukong readily agreed, and began to crack his knuckles.
"Oh dear, oh dear, a regular training room probably can't withstand your energy fluctuations. Let's find another place to spar," Weiss said with a smile, shaking his head.
“Yes, Mr. Weiss.” Mels nodded without objection.
“Find a suitable planet,” Weiss said, raising his scepter. The crystal ball at the end of the scepter lit up and began scanning nearby planets.
"How about we go to the Supreme Kai's world? That planet is more sturdy!" Goku suddenly suggested, his eyes lighting up. "I can sense Broly's presence here, so it would be easier to just teleport there."
Weiss glanced at Sun Wukong, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes, and nodded in agreement.
