Chapter 593 The Night Steed
Cyrus never doubted Voldemort's character, so he wouldn't be surprised if Voldemort chose to target Garrick Ollivander.
But there's one thing: Voldemort could never have simply barged into the wand shop and kidnapped Garrick.
As the longest-standing surname in the British wizarding world, Ollivanders didn't leave behind a mountain of Galleons like Malfoys, but they weren't left with nothing either.
Even Xilun had no idea how many secrets were hidden in that small wand shop, or how many ancient runes and symbols were concealed behind the dusty walls.
These runes weren't added after Diagon Alley was built; they were moved here directly from the original address, just like the wand shop itself, and belong to genuine ancient magic. Their purpose is simple: to protect the wand shop.
Voldemort's attempt to kidnap Garrick from the wand shop was nearly as difficult as his attempt to kidnap Fawkes from the headmaster's office at Hogwarts—almost impossible.
Unless Garrick willingly allowed himself to be captured —
Siren hesitated for a moment, instinctively wondering if Voldemort had also used him to deal with Garrick.
In that brief moment of hesitation, Harry, Ron, and Hermione had already climbed onto Thestrals.
"Wait, this might be a trap—"
Before Xilun could finish speaking, the three Thestrals took off one after another, the wind whipped up by their wings hitting Xilun's face and silencing him.
However, judging from Harry's anxious demeanor just now, even if he knew it might be a trap, he probably wouldn't give up.
There's nothing we can do.
Heron also climbed onto Thestral's back, but before setting off, he wrote a short letter on a piece of parchment, folded it into a paper airplane, and gently tossed it toward the castle.
The paper airplane slowly flew away, eventually heading to Professor McGonagall's office as instructed by the guiding spell.
Just in case, Xilun thought it would be better to inform the professor in advance.
Actually, using a guardian deity to relay the message would have been the simplest solution at this point, but unfortunately, Xilun had no other guardian deities, and the proud unicorn probably wouldn't have been willing to do such a "trivial" task as relaying messages.
After doing all this, Siron rode his Thestral away from Hogwarts.
Harry must have gone to the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. He just said that the last thing he saw in his dream was Voldemort taking Sirius Black and Garrick Ollivander to that place.
But Siron still chose to go to Diagon Alley first, as there were some things he needed to confirm in advance.
He had ridden in the Thestrals many times, but that was completely different from now.
The Thestrals were so fast that their large wings barely flapped before Shiron found himself above the Forbidden Forest, and Hogwarts Castle behind him had shrunk to the size of a pea.
A second later, Hogwarts completely disappeared.
Siren had never ridden a Firebolt, but he was certain that the Thestrals were much faster than Firebolts.
A cool breeze brushed against Xilun's face. Amidst the whistling wind, Xilun squinted, carefully observing the situation below.
First came Hogsmeade, which disappeared almost in the blink of an eye, followed by rolling hills and valleys.
Hogwarts was surrounded by such things. Siren remembered that when he took the train back before, it would take three hours before he could see a Muggle village.
But after the Thestral had only been flying for about ten minutes, patches of lights appeared below, followed by a winding road with several cars moving slowly like snails.
Then he saw a new village—no, it should be called a town, which was much larger than a village.
Before he could even see what was below, the Night Steed carried him once again into a mountain range.
Sheren thought that Hogwarts should have Thestrals pick people up at King's Cross Station next time school started, as they were much faster than trains and would even save them money on lunch.
About an hour later, London was already in sight.
Siren noticed several blurry dark figures not far ahead; they must be Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Judging from their direction, they were probably heading straight for the Ministry of Magic.
"Let's go to Diagon Alley," Celen whispered in the Thestral's ear.
For over a thousand years, Thestral carriages have been the most popular mode of transport among wizards, as these magical creatures possess a more powerful ability to find their way than owls.
Although it had grown up in the Forbidden Forest and had never been to Diagon Alley before, it was able to find the right way immediately after hearing what Siron said.
By this time, the sky was gradually darkening, and the car lights flowing on the ground looked like the bright eyes of insects. In almost the blink of an eye, they began to land.
The bright orange light around them grew larger and rounder, and Siron could see the old sign of the Leaky Cauldron and the towering Gringotts spire, carved from a single block of marble, behind it.
Thestrals showed no sign of slowing down, carrying Siren as they hurtled toward the ground. Yet, the next second, they landed as lightly as feathers on the ground in the middle of Diagon Alley.
There was no time to marvel at this wonderful feeling. Celeste slid off the Thestral's back, quickly determined his direction, and ran towards the wand shop.
The Thestrals landed right next to Flourish and Blotts, very close to the wand shop, separated by only five shops.
Perhaps because Hogwarts hasn't started its holiday yet, there are practically no people on the streets of Diagon Alley right now.
Xilun jogged forward, the sound of his shoes on the cobblestones sounding particularly hurried in the quiet street.
However, the next second, a strange sense of crisis suddenly spread throughout his body, and that blatant, undisguised malice pricked his skin like needles.
Xilun abruptly stopped in his tracks.
at the same time----
"Avada Kedavra!"
A blinding green light flew past Xiren; if he hadn't stopped, the spell would have hit him.
But Siron stopped, and the Killing Curse landed on the door of Florin's Ice Cream Shop across the street.
The loud explosion instantly brought Diagon Alley to a lively state.
"Oh, damn it, my door—"
Florin Fusco, the owner of the ice cream shop, was the first to rush out, wanting to see which audacious bastard dared to bomb his shop.
Then he saw a familiar, pale, and deranged face.
Bellatrix Lestrange held her wand high, pointing it at the sky. Above her head, countless emerald green dots slowly formed a gigantic skull, from which a large python emerged like a tongue.
Death Eaters, and the Dark Mark?
Once he realized what was happening, Florin Fusco ran back into the ice cream shop almost ten times faster than before, and then slammed the other half of the door that hadn't been blown apart.
