Chapter 73 Romania
Chapter 73 Romania
Silen's idea was good, but when the next morning came, he still took the door key that Garrick handed him.
Because he overlooked one thing: besides the Dragon Sanctuary, the most famous place in Romania is also home to the finest Dragonblood Wood in the entire magical world.
Xilun may not care about the Dragon Heartstring, but he cannot ignore the Dragon Bloodwood, especially after unintentionally creating that special wand.
Xiren touched the wand in his pocket, which was about the length of a finger.
Fortunately, Garrick Ollivander didn't know what the core of the staff was, otherwise he might have cracked on the spot, and he wouldn't have been in the mood to go to Romania.
"Are you ready?" Garrick glanced at the time. "We requested 10 o'clock, let's hurry."
"Three...two...one..."
As if pulled forcefully by something, Xilun felt his feet leave the ground and his body being dragged rapidly.
The wind whistled in my ears, and the scene before me became blurry. The shops, streets, and familiar sights of Diagon Alley receded like lightning.
This wasn't the first time Siren had used a Portkey. This special magical item could be used without learning how to manifest followers, and it was more convenient and faster than the Floo Net and the Knight Bus. It had always been the preferred way for Galion and Lila to take him on long trips.
At that time, Xilun only used it around the UK. This was the first time Xilun had tried a door key that spanned more than a thousand miles.
Xilun didn't know how long he had been being dragged along; he only felt increasingly dizzy and his stomach churning.
Finally, his feet landed heavily on the ground. Xiren swayed a few times, barely managing to steady himself before he had time to observe his surroundings.
He was standing on a wide, open meadow. The grass was thick and soft underfoot, so even if he had fallen, he probably wouldn't have been hurt.
In the distance are massive, continuous mountain peaks and the boundless forests surrounding them, with a lingering smell of sulfur in the air.
"Welcome to Romania, this is a truly unforgettable taste." Garic Ollivander landed skillfully on the grass and patted Siron on the shoulder.
"How are you? Are you alright?"
"I'm not used to it." Xiren touched his nose. The smell of sulfur was getting stronger and stronger. He felt like he was standing next to a volcano about to erupt.
"It was the same the first time I came," Garrick said with a smile. "Oh, someone's come to pick us up."
A muscular man ran out of the woods ahead.
"It really is you, Garrick!" The man looked to be in his sixties or seventies, but his physique was more robust than most people's. His muscular arms were covered with scars, some of which had already healed, while others still had fresh scabs, indicating that they had been there recently.
The newcomer gave Garrick a tight hug. "Shouldn't you be in Diagon Alley right now, preparing wands for the young wizards who are getting ready to go to Hogwarts?"
"The acceptance letters haven't been sent out yet," Garrick said.
"I almost forgot, it's only July," the visitor said.
Xilun watched the two of them the whole time.
"Oh, let me introduce you, this is Alistair Barkley," Garrick said. "He's also an old friend of mine, a veteran dragon breeder who's worked here for thirty years."
"Hello." Siren stepped forward. "My name is Siren Ollivander."
"Hello," Alistair said, and the two shook hands.
Xilun felt as if he were holding a piece of unpolished dragon skin.
“Olivend…” Alistair glanced at Garrick thoughtfully, “He must be Garian and Lila’s son.”
"That's right."
"I've heard that Garian's son inherited Ollivander's wand-making skills... Oh, wait a minute."
He suddenly lowered his voice, "Garrick, although we have a good relationship, I must remind you that the Dragon Sanctuary will only cooperate with the sole owner of the wand shop, you should know that, right?"
"Of course I know, and I have no plans to retire anytime soon," Garrick said.
"Are you sure?" Alistair looked at him suspiciously, then added, "The Fire Dragon Reserve doesn't sell any materials to individuals either."
He didn't know Xilen, but he knew Garrick when he was young. Although they had a good relationship now, if you went back fifty years, the two of them would never have been able to talk to each other calmly.
That old guy went to extreme lengths to get enough dragon heartstrings and heart nerves.
Unfortunately, he had just graduated at that time and arrived at the Dragon Sanctuary full of enthusiasm and dreams, completely unaware of the treacherous nature of the magical world. When facing the scheming Garrick, he was practically tricked every single day, each time in a different way.
These experiences later became his most useful weapon when facing smugglers and poachers.
"Don't worry, he's only in second grade this year. Even if you're willing to sell him, he can't afford it," Garrick said.
Alistair still looked skeptical.
"I'll leave him outside," Garrick continued. "I won't let him come with us to see that murdered Ukrainian Iron Belly."
"Oh, so you knew!" Alistair said irritably. "That's why you came here today, isn't it... By the way, how did you guys find out? We haven't even announced it yet, and more than a dozen people have already shown up."
"Who else has arrived?"
"You were Headmaster Albus Dumbledore before, and he came with Mr. Newt Scamander."
"Dumbledore, I really should have come sooner."
"Heh." Alistair sneered.
"Alright, take me to see it now," Garrick urged. "I promise that every child who uses the Dragon Wand afterward will thank you for your generosity and selflessness."
"You've lied to me with that line countless times..." Alistair glanced at Garrick with a chilling look. "Among those poachers, quite a few use the Fire Dragon Staff Core."
Despite saying that, he still led Garrick toward the center of the protected area, because there were more dragon keepers using the core of the dragon wand, including his own wand, which was the heart and nerve of a dragon.
However, he didn't actually leave Xilun alone in the same place. Although this place wasn't the most dangerous central area of the reserve, it wasn't exactly safe either.
"Someone will come looking for you later. You can wander around and ask him anything you want to know." Alistair turned his head and looked Xilun up and down.
He has regular features and a good personality; he stood quietly to the side while they were talking.
Therefore, his first impression of Xiren was quite good, at least much better than that old guy Garrick.
"Keep it up, kid," he said with a smile. "I hope we can reach an agreement as soon as possible."
