Chu Hang nodded in satisfaction as he watched this scene.
It wasn't a waste of breath. This child is teachable.
He turned around, ready to leave.
"Wait!" Thor called out to him.
Holding Thor's hammer, he looked at Chu Hang's back, his eyes no longer filled with the arrogance of the past, only pure awe and gratitude.
"who are you?"
Chu Hang smiled but didn't turn around.
"Just passing by"
After he finished speaking, his figure slowly faded into the air until he disappeared completely.
Thor, holding Mjolnir, was left standing there, gazing at the sky.
He knew he owed this man a huge favor.
His next goal is to return to Asgard, find his good brother, and settle this score.
Chapter 98 Brothers' Battle
Chu Hang appeared on the Gobi Desert in New Mexico, more than 100 kilometers from the town of Bounty Bridge.
The evening breeze carried sand, and there was no one around.
He didn't rush to leave; he closed his eyes and pondered his gains from this trip.
[S-Rank Ability: Adaptive Armor]
This trip was not in vain.
The self-healing factor and the Protoss physique allow you to get back up after being hit. This new armor simply prevents you from getting hurt in the first place. With both combined, it's hard to die even if you want to.
What's even more interesting is that the core of this thing is "learning".
The more it takes hits, the harder it becomes. Let the Hulk beat it for a day, and this armor will automatically analyze gamma rays and generate a defense specifically designed to counter the Hulk.
This is not all.
The key is "integrability".
He can infuse spatial energy into it, turning it into a layer of spatial deflection armor. After that, anyone who attacks him will have their fists and bullets deflected by the distorted space.
Alternatively, you could graft the power of [Infinite Fury] onto it to create a "Thornmail". If you punch me, you'll get punched back, maybe even harder.
This thing has more potential than he thought. It's not an inanimate object; it's a living treasure that can level up along with him.
Chu Hang opened his eyes and could feel the invisible armor on his skin. It was like a film that clung to his body, weightless, but definitely there.
He muttered something to himself, then disappeared and returned to New York.
Meanwhile, Asgard.
In the control room of the Rainbow Bridge, Heimdall stood like a statue.
In the throne room, Loki abruptly stood up from his throne, his crown askew. The Spear of Eternity clattered to the ground with a jarring sound.
His face was pale, his lips were trembling, and his eyes were filled with horror.
Just now, he watched the whole process through the Destroyer's eyes.
The man who suddenly appeared looked almost like an ordinary person. He blocked the Destroyer's beam with one hand. Then, with his other hand, he crushed the Destroyer's head like an egg.
The mental link between him and the Destroyer was shattered by that one punch, torn apart by an unreasonable force. He even felt a force rushing back along the link, making his head buzz.
What is that power?
It wasn't the divine power of Asgard, nor the frost power of Jotunheim. It was a purer, more domineering power.
The most powerful weapon of war in Odin's vault, the killing machine that terrified the Nine Realms, has become a pile of scrap metal.
"Impossible...this is impossible..." Loki muttered in despair.
His plan, the one he thought was flawless, was a joke in front of that man. He originally wanted to use the Destroyer to kill Thor, and then, under the pretext of "avenging his brother," destroy Jotunheim with the Rainbow Bridge to prove to Odin that he was the rightful heir.
Now, everything is in chaos.
Earth, the remote and impoverished place in his eyes, actually harbored such a monster.
"Heimdall!" Loki roared at the empty hall, his voice shrill and high-pitched with fear. "Show me him! Use your eyes to find that man!"
In the Rainbow Bridge control room, Heimdall opened his golden eyes, eyes that could see through the nine realms. He was silent for a moment, then his voice, like a bell, rang directly in Loki's mind.
"Your Majesty, I can't see him."
"What do you mean you can't see it?!" Loki exploded like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. "You are the guardian of the Nine Realms! Nothing can escape your eyes!"
“But he is an exception.” Heimdall’s voice was completely flat. “When my gaze falls on him, it is distorted and swallowed up by an unseen force. He is like a black hole outside the Nine Realms, an absolute blind spot. I can only see what he wants me to see.”
An absolute blind spot.
These words were like a bucket of ice water, completely extinguishing the last shred of hope in Loki's heart.
He slumped on the steps in front of the throne, his eyes vacant.
The unknown is the scariest thing.
He realized he had provoked an entity he shouldn't have. Earth had become a variable he couldn't fathom.
Boonte Bridge Town.
S.H.I.E.L.D. reinforcements have arrived, and Coulson is busy directing his men to clean up the scene, reassure the townspeople, and brainwash all the witnesses.
Thor changed into clean clothes that Coulson had found for him, stood on the messy street, and said goodbye to Jane Foster.
His divine power had returned, but his eyes and demeanor were completely different from before. His former arrogance and disdain for others had been replaced by composure.
“I must go back.” Thor looked at Jane, his eyes filled with apology and reluctance. “Loki must pay for what he did. Asgard cannot fall into his hands.”
"Will you come back?" Jane's eyes were a little red. She had just experienced a life-or-death situation and then witnessed the return of the mythical creature; her heart was in turmoil.
“I promise,” Thor solemnly promised, “I will come back after I’ve taken care of things at home.”
He turned to Eric and Daisy and sincerely thanked them: "Thank you for taking care of me during this time."
Dr. Eric pushed up his glasses and looked at him with a complicated expression: "I used to think that science could explain everything. Now it seems I need to buy a few more books on mythology."
Daisy took out her phone and snapped a picture of Thor: "Hey, big guy, remember to bring some Asgardian souvenirs next time you come back."
Thor smiled; this was the first genuine smile he had ever had since returning to Earth.
He looked up at the sky and shouted, "Heimdall! Open the door!"
A beam of seven-colored light descended from the sky, enveloping him. When the light faded, Thor had vanished.
Jane stared blankly at the sky, as if she could still see the shadow of the rainbow.
Thor crossed the Rainbow Bridge and returned to Asgard.
The control room was a mess, and Heimdall was frozen solid. Thor used Mjolnir to smash the ice and rescue him.
"Where is Loki?"
“The Throne Room,” Heimdall said briefly.
Thor, hammer in hand, strode toward the throne room.
Loki stood before the activation device of the Rainbow Bridge. He inserted the Spear of Eternity into the control panel, and the immense energy flowed through the Rainbow Bridge, transforming into a beam of destruction that shot towards the distant icy world of Jotunheim.
"What are you doing?!" Thor roared.
"I'm finishing what you started!" Loki turned around, a maniacal grin spreading across his face. "I'm going to destroy Jotunheim, destroy those monsters! Father will be proud of me!"
"You're insane! You're committing massacre!"
“I am protecting Asgard! I am proving that I am more deserving of this throne than you!”
Loki roared, raised his scepter, and conjured more than a dozen identical phantoms that attacked Thor from all directions.
Thor closed his eyes, too lazy to look. He slammed Mjolnir into the ground, unleashing a storm of lightning that instantly tore all the phantoms to shreds.
The real Loki was struck by the lightning and staggered backward.
“Your little tricks won’t work on me, little brother.” Thor walked over step by step.
Loki watched Thor approach, his madness turning to despair. He drew his spear, Eternity, and a golden beam of energy shot towards Thor.
Thor swung his warhammer, creating a gust of wind that deflected the energy beams. He charged at Loki, and the two began to fight on the narrow Rainbow Bridge.
Every time the hammer and gun collided, they emitted a blinding flash of light, shaking the entire Rainbow Bridge.
Thor is stronger and more skilled than Loki, but Loki is focused on activating the Bifrost and doesn't want to fight him head-on.
"I can't stop it!" Heimdall shouted from afar. "The energy is out of control!"
Thor looked at the beam of destruction that was about to wipe out a world, then glanced at Loki, who was still struggling, and a resolute glint flashed in his eyes.
He made a decision.
He stopped attacking Loki and instead raised Thor's hammer high, using all his divine power to smash it down on the Rainbow Bridge beneath his feet.
"What are you doing?!" Loki shouted in horror. "If you destroy it, you'll never see your mortal girl again!"
"boom--!"
Thor ignored him and struck again with his hammer.
The crystal rainbow bridge let out a mournful cry, and huge cracks spread from beneath its feet.
When the third hammer fell, the entire Rainbow Bridge shattered completely. The massive energy explosion sent both of them flying.
The bridge broke, and below lay a bottomless, star-studded abyss of space.
As Thor fell, he was caught by a golden light. It was Odin, who had just woken up, and he arrived just in time to grab Thor's foot.
Thor, however, clung tightly to the shaft of the Spear of Eternity. At the other end of the spear, Loki was also falling.
"I could have done it, Father!" Loki hung above the abyss, looking at Odin on the throne, his face streaked with tears and resentment. "I could have done it! For you! For all of us!"
Odin looked at him with a complicated expression and slowly said a sentence.
"No, Loki."
