Chapter 5: My Word is the Rule
Chapter 5: My Word is the Rule
As Xiao Kailun was pushed inside, he instantly attracted everyone's attention.
Especially her innocent and shy aura, which seemed out of place in the nightlife scene, made her stand out even more.
Prince Tai's eyes lit up, as if he had seen some new toy. He pushed away the woman in his arms and beckoned to her: "Come here, student."
Xiao Kailun stood still, her body stiff as a piece of wood, her fingers digging tightly into the stun gun in her skirt pocket.
"Are you deaf? The prince is calling you over!" A henchman stepped forward, roughly grabbed her arm, and dragged her forward.
Xiao Kailun was dragged to the sofa and almost fell over. Prince Tai reached out to help her up, but she shrank back like a startled rabbit.
"Oh, still shy?" Prince Tai laughed, his smile full of lewdness and mockery. "Schoolgirls are different, so pure. Come, sit here." He patted the seat next to him.
Xiao Kailun shook her head, her voice trembling, "I...I want to go home..."
"Go home?" Prince Tai seemed to have heard something amusing. "Your brother owes me over 300,000, and I'm using you to pay off the debt. From today onwards, this is your home. Don't worry, your brother will take good care of you."
Several henchmen nearby let out lewd laughter.
Prince Tai picked up a glass of amber-colored liquor and handed it to her: "Drink this first, to give your brother face. After you drink it, we can talk slowly."
In the dim light, Xiao Kailun did not see that a white pill had been secretly inserted into the little finger of the prince.
Xiao Kailun looked at the glass of wine and remembered Robbie's words: never drink anything from a bar.
She bit her lip, then suddenly clutched her stomach, bent over, and looked pained: "I... my stomach hurts so much... I feel like throwing up..."
"Damn it, are you playing games?" Prince Tai's face darkened.
"No...no, I really don't feel well..." Xiao Kailun's acting wasn't very good, but her fear was real, and she managed to put on a convincing act. She deliberately gagged a few times.
Crown Prince Tai frowned, somewhat disappointed. He had been in high spirits tonight and didn't want things to turn unpleasant from the start.
"Take her to the bathroom to vomit and then come back." He waved his hand impatiently.
One of the henchmen responded, grabbed Xiao Kailun's arm, and dragged her toward the private restroom in the VIP room.
Just then, there was a knock on the door of the private room.
Three taps, neither too light nor too heavy.
The music was too loud, and at first no one noticed. There were three more knocks on the door, this time louder.
"Damn it, who is this? Didn't you see the sign that says 'Do Not Disturb'?" one of Prince Tai's henchmen cursed.
The door was pushed open a crack, and a young man dressed as a waiter poked his head in: "Excuse me, Prince. There are two guys from Tsz Wan Shan outside who want to pay you a visit."
Brothers from Tsz Wan Shan?
Crown Prince Tai was taken aback for a moment, then reacted, a playful yet cruel smile appearing on his face: "Xiao Zhuoxiao? He actually dared to come? And he even brought men?"
He glanced at Xiao Kailun, who was being held by his henchmen and looked pale, and suddenly changed his mind, his mood seemingly improving. He loved watching these kinds of scenes where "family members come to the rescue, but are powerless to help."
Of course, to thoroughly irrigate his sister in front of his own brother, wow, that feeling would be absolutely amazing, heavenly!
"Let them in." Prince Tai leaned back on the sofa, leisurely lighting a cigar. "I want to see what kind of big shots this Xiao Zhuoxiao has brought to talk to me. Turn the music down."
A few minutes later.
The door to the private room was pushed open again.
Xiao Zhuoxiao was the first to rush in, his eyes instantly locking onto Xiao Kailun, whose arm was being held by Crown Prince Tai, like radar. Seeing his sister's pale and terrified face, the veins on Xiao Zhuoxiao's forehead throbbed, his fists clenched until his knuckles turned white, and his teeth clenched so tightly they made a grinding sound.
"Brother, save me!" Xiao Kailun tried to stand up, but was pressed down by the prince.
"Behave yourself."
"Karen!" Seeing his sister being held hostage, Xiao Zhuoxiao roared and was about to rush forward.
"Ah Xiao, don't be impulsive." Song Zhaowen stepped forward, almost side by side with Xiao Zhuoxiao, his left hand seemingly casually resting on Xiao's tense arm, but actually exerting force to steady him.
Song Zhaowen's gaze swept quickly across the entire private room. Layout, number of people, location, possible weapons... all this information was instantly processed and analyzed in his enhanced brain.
There were seven henchmen, plus Prince Tai, making a total of eight men. The two men with Prince Tai were probably his bodyguards, while the other five were scattered throughout the private room, blocking the door and any possible escape routes.
Prince Tai himself leaned back casually in the middle of the sofa, legs crossed, a cigar in one hand and the drugged wine in the other, a mocking smile on his face like a cat playing with a mouse.
"Oh, Ah Xiao, so you have plenty of free time, bringing your brother to the Imperial Palace?" Crown Prince Tai exhaled a smoke ring and spoke slowly, his tone undisguisedly sarcastic: "But you've come at a bad time. I happen to have an appointment with your sister to 'discuss some matters' today. Why don't you two wait outside? After we're 'finished,' we can talk about the debt you owe me? Or do you want to stay here and watch the show unfold?"
Xiao Zhuoxiao trembled with rage, his eyes fixed on Crown Prince Tai, and he forced out the words through gritted teeth: "Crown Prince Tai, release my sister! I, Xiao Zhuoxiao, acknowledge the money I owe you! Give me time, and I will definitely repay it! Don't touch my sister!"
"Pay back? What are you going to use to pay back?" Prince Tai scoffed, toying with the wine glass in his hand. "Three hundred thousand? You think it's just thirty-odd dollars? Do you think I don't know what you're capable of, Ah Xiao? Smuggling goods? Collecting protection money? You could kill yourself and still not pay it back!"
He paused, his lecherous gaze sweeping over Xiao Kailun: "However, I'm a very reasonable person. Since you can't pay me back, using your sister to settle the debt is perfectly justified. That's how it's done in the underworld, you know that."
"Don't let your family suffer the consequences; that's the rule of the martial world!" Xiao Zhuoxiao roared.
"Rules?" Prince Tai laughed as if he had heard a joke, and several of his henchmen joined in the laughter. "I set the rules! In Yau Ma Tei, in the Dynasty, I, Prince Tai, am the rule! Xiao Zhuoxiao, get this straight, you're begging me now, not the other way around."
He slammed his wine glass down on the coffee table with a loud thud, his smile vanishing instantly, his eyes turning icy. "Either you produce 300,000 yuan in cash right now and put it in front of me, and I'll release them immediately. Or get out of here and don't spoil my fun. If you keep babbling, believe me, I'll keep both of you here for a 'talk' too!"
As soon as he finished speaking, one of the henchmen standing on either side of the sofa pulled half of his hand out of his pocket, revealing the dark butt of a gun. The henchman blocking the door also took a step forward, his eyes filled with hostility.
