Chapter 34 The Avengers! Assemble!
Chapter 34 The Avengers! Assemble!
Actually, opening the door is a very simple thing.
For the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, it was merely a matter of raising their hands to draw a circle; but for Thor and his companions, this would be the most important and grandest expedition ever.
More than two thousand men, willing to stand up for humanity's last line of defense, stepped forward—some women had also volunteered, but were strongly persuaded to turn back.
Thor gazed at the faces before him, some young, some old, his wise eyes pressed to his lips, and uttered the words that had haunted countless dreams, words that now represented only a desperate gamble: "Now!! Raise your weapons!!"
The sound was like thunder, shaking the entire arena, but no one here was afraid anymore.
From the moment they made the decision, they were prepared to die.
Everyone picked up whatever they could find useful: perhaps spears or short swords, or sharp blades, but few people used firearms.
After all, once Baron Zemo understood Thor's power mechanism, he stopped issuing firearms—these things that become scrap metal after the bullets are fired are far less reliable than a melee weapon.
Before accepting the power of the gods, they first chose the weapons that suited them best, and some even brought rakes.
"In the name of the Father of the Gods!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the world changed dramatically, with thunder and rain pouring down.
Loki looked up at the sky and listened to the iconic opening remarks, momentarily wondering if he had mistaken the person for someone else.
"Anyone willing to fight for the living, for humanity, for hope deserves the power of Thor!!"
When the last few words were uttered, the sound was accompanied by crackling arcs of lightning, striking heavily into everyone's hearts.
The golden lightning that erupted from his fingertips followed the arc of electricity in the air and instantly climbed onto the weapons that everyone had raised!
In the blink of an eye, lightning flashed from Thor's eyes, flowing into the depths of everyone's pupils. Everyone felt an incredible, surging power within their bodies.
Wow!
Even the superheroes, who were used to superpowers, exclaimed in surprise, and several girls who had been persuaded to go back earlier were filled with regret—this was just too cool!
Loki rolled his eyes and shook his head.
Do you really think he can't see it?
As Thor distributed his power to these people, his own aura gradually weakened.
What does it mean to raise more than two thousand super soldiers who can rival Captain America?
Thor nearly stumbled as he moved, but quickly masked it with a frivolous air.
But Hanlu saw it all.
As Thor casually walked back into the crowd, he secretly slipped the horse charm into the other person's hand.
Thor held the healing stone, feeling his power slowly returning, his face filled with disbelief. He then nodded solemnly to Hanlu: "Thank you."
"Keep it up," Hanlu smiled. "After all, we're still waiting for the strongest Avenger to help us defeat the Queen."
Upon receiving the praise, Thor gripped his hammer tightly, feeling as if his power had truly returned—of course, this was just an illusion; what truly returned was his confidence.
"Then let's start the war."
Above Wakanda, the city now a mythical land, the rainbow curtain continues to supply the Hulk with immeasurable energy.
Meanwhile, at the edge of the valley in the vast basin, the endless horde of zombies finally arrived as expected.
The Zombie Queen stared menacingly at the Hulk in the distance, her emotionless eyes reflecting his figure, which was completely filled with infinite energy.
It is no exaggeration to say that even if Hulk only possessed a portion of the infinite energy, he would still be one of the most powerful beings among countless supernatural variants.
Fortunately, the current Hulk has lost even his original consciousness, leaving only a strategic counterattack program similar to AI.
Otherwise, with just one explosive punch from him, he could have smashed the Earth to pieces!
Even though the unprecedented horde of zombies was clearly heading for him, and had even begun to charge, it posed no threat to Hulk, who had not defined his own boundaries.
He did nothing but quietly watch the first zombie rushing towards him—his old adversary, Abomination!
As Abomination approached step by step, carrying its warhammer, the Hulk moved just as his fist was about to strike.
His gesture of raising his hand was as light as the opening and closing of scissors, showing no sign of exertion. Yet, this simple and unadorned gesture carried boundless, surging energy, instantly pulverizing the raging monster before him.
As the rainbow-like boundless energy around Hulk surged even more violently, the Zombie Queen felt both hatred and anxiety, and a sense of unease inexplicably arose within her.
She didn't find the people she originally wanted, but she did gather new combat power, and thought she still held a strategic advantage.
But when she ordered the zombie horde to continue their charge, the situation quietly changed.
The black, tidal wave of zombies was slowly devouring the open space when suddenly several dazzling golden halos appeared in the sky!
Countless warriors, enveloped in a sky full of lightning, leaped out from the circle of light.
Some people were carrying battle axes, some were wielding swords, and some were even carrying hoes.
As each blessed Thor warrior landed, a thunderstorm roared like war drums, instantly wiping out the first wave of zombies.
The Zombie Queen tilted her head in confusion, completely unable to comprehend the situation before her—neither in the past nor now, she could understand what the "divine power" of Thor was.
It wasn't until the last few familiar superheroes jumped out of the aperture that she finally understood.
"Okay, I know I shouldn't be saying this now."
Spider-Man looked at his teammates, some familiar and some unfamiliar, and suddenly blurted out, "Look at them, they're like stray cats that stole a rotten can of sardines from a trash can on the back street."
Although the words were comical, a sense of ambition inexplicably arose in everyone.
"No matter what, we must protect Hulk and absolutely not let the Zombie Queen touch him," the Minotaur said in a deep voice.
"Speaking of which, how about we make a pre-battle declaration? Like..." Hanlu suddenly felt a little relieved, perhaps because she had conveniently opened the door for someone to go to England, and her heart was free of worries.
All eyes immediately turned to Thor, the "strongest Avenger," but he was looking at his old teammate Hulk with a somber expression.
He instinctively wanted to reach out and touch the other person, and then—
Boom!
Thor was punched and sent flying, sliding down the ground and creating a deep ditch.
Everyone turned their heads in unison, tacitly choosing to ignore this unfortunate god.
"Okay, let's find someone else, although the timing isn't quite right."
Hanlu turned to John Walker, raised her chin at him, and said, "But I think I should still say something."
John Walker raised his shield and shouted, "Avengers!"
"Assemble!"
Two thousand voices converged into a torrent, shaking the valley with a resounding boom!
Lightning flashed and the roars of zombies intertwined, golden lightning cleaved through the black tide, and every swing of the sword and every swing of the hammer carried divine power.
Spider-Man swung through the webs, leaving afterimages as he spun webs and muttered, "Honestly, if I'd known there were so many living people, I would never have hidden in the Himalayas eating Indian salad. It tasted absolutely disgusting!"
Thor, clutching his throbbing face, climbed out of the ditch and, upon hearing the shout of "Assemble!", suddenly laughed.
He gripped the hammer tightly, lightning crackling up his arm and up the shaft. As he charged towards the front lines, he turned back and shouted, "Wait for me! The strongest Avenger hasn't even unleashed his power yet!"
As the zombie queen watched the zombies fall one after another, she finally realized that she had underestimated these "ants".
She opened her mouth and let out a sharp roar, and more mutated zombies emerged from the shadows! They were like black waves, rushing towards the last glimmer of light!
