Chapter 159 Meeting
Chapter 159 Meeting
"Ugh! I'm exhausted! Arthur, I want ice cream!"
The door was pushed open forcefully, and Qingzi rushed into the living room like a gust of wind.
She threw her backpack on the ground, collapsed onto the sofa, and began calling out to Arthur at the top of her lungs.
Although it's still snowing outside, eating ice cream at this time of year seems rather unusual.
According to Aoko's self-righteous logic:
"I'm a magician now, what's wrong with eating ice cream in winter? If I can't even have this one privilege, then what's the point of being a magician!"
As Arthur took ice cream from the refrigerator in the kitchen and brought it over, Aoko vented her frustrations about her school day on the sofa.
"Ugh! What time is it? Final exams are coming up soon, how can anyone choose to transfer schools at this time!"
Are the school leaders out of their minds?
I already have enough to do in the student council, and now I'm being asked to look after that transfer student at school!
Aoko took the ice cream, scooped out a large spoonful, and stuffed it into her mouth. She winced from the cold, but still mumbled incoherently:
"And that transfer student is a weirdo too. How can there be such a person who lacks common sense!"
He doesn't even know how to use a vending machine? Is he some kind of savage who just escaped from the deep mountains and forests?
At this point, Aoko suddenly paused.
She turned her head, looked at Arthur standing to the side wearing an apron, and pouted: "Okay, thinking about it carefully, you don't have much common sense either."
"I'm sorry to have made you laugh, Miss Aoko." Arthur wasn't angry; he smiled gently.
He knew there was no malice in Qingzi's words; she was just used to this straightforward way of expressing herself.
Arthur wasn't sure how others would judge Aoko's fiery and direct personality, but he actually liked her frankness.
"Now that you're back, Miss Yuzhu should be arriving soon. I'll go prepare dinner." Arthur turned and walked back to the kitchen.
Not long after, the doorbell of the mansion suddenly rang.
"Who is it at this hour..." Aoko, chewing on her spoon, impatiently got up from the sofa and shuffled towards the entryway in her slippers. "Coming, coming! Stop pressing the button!"
The heavy door was flung open, and a gust of cold wind, mixed with snowflakes, rushed in.
Standing outside the door was a silver-haired girl wearing a light-colored dress.
It was "Lily" whom Arthur had met at the supermarket during the day.
Before Aoko could ask anything, Lily handed over a beautifully crafted gift bag she was carrying, speaking rapidly and without a single stutter:
"Hello, please forgive my intrusion. I am Lily. I am here today to ask the owner of this mansion for permission to move in."
Aoko stood frozen at the doorway, holding half an ice cream cone.
Her face was filled with great confusion.
What's going on?
When did Yu-joo become so poor that she had to put up a "For Rent" sign?
That's not right. With Yuzhu's personality of valuing land more than her own life, she would never rent out the mansion to outsiders even if she starved to death!
Aoko was completely confused, but the girl outside the door who called herself Lily was incredibly beautiful, with clear, purple eyes and a petite, harmless appearance.
Aoko subconsciously felt that such a beautiful girl couldn't be a liar or a dangerous person.
It's still snowing outside, and it doesn't seem right to leave people waiting outside.
Aoko scratched her head, intending to step aside first to let Lily enter the entryway to warm up, and then find out if Yuzhu was someone she knew when she came back.
Just then, a cold, emotionless voice came from not far away.
"Hello, I am the owner of this mansion."
Aoko peeked out and discovered that Yuzhu had returned sometime earlier and was standing quietly not far away, holding a long black parasol.
Yuzhu's dark eyes coldly stared at the silver-haired girl before her, her tone devoid of any emotion:
"You said you want my permission to move in, what's your reason?"
Yuzhu saw the unfamiliar girl standing at her doorstep while she was still on the slope.
I also heard her inexplicable "request to join" to Aoko.
At this moment, Yuzhu was silently speechless at her live-in partner:
Is Aoko just too oblivious?
Judging from her completely unguarded demeanor just now, she actually intended to let a woman with unknown background and who was spouting nonsense into the house?
This is a magician's workshop, not only housing fairytale familiars, but now also... Arthur.
Aoko's wariness really is all muscle.
