Chapter 98: James and Lily Sleep, Sirius Enters Azkaban
It feels a bit dangerous to let Mingyue sleep on my neck. He's still fast asleep, what if he falls off?
The only thing I could do was hold him in my arms from around my neck, and I could pet him every now and then.
While I was away with Mingyue, Sirius Black and James Potter went back into the house, so it seems we didn't get anything today.
I don't really want to go home today, and I'll probably be staking out the Sirius Black area for the next few days.
Not having slept for a few days is nothing; what I've been doing these past few days is following those two around, watching them inquire about Peter Pediru's whereabouts.
On this day, the two of them finally cornered Peter Pedirou.
It was a dark and cold night when Peter Peterou was cornered by Sirius Black and James Potter. Sirius Black and James Potter's eyes were filled with anger and accusation, for they could not tolerate Peter Peterou's betrayal.
"Why did you betray the Potters?" Sirius Black roared, his wand gripping tightly in his hand.
Peter Pedirou trembled as he tried to defend himself: "I...I didn't..."
"Stop making excuses!" James Porter interrupted him. "We already know everything!"
Peter Pediru knelt before Sirius Black and James Potter, crying and begging for mercy: "I'm sorry... James, I was forced into this, I didn't want it to be like this."
“Peter, do you think we still believe you?” Sirius Black cast a curse on Peter Peteru with his wand.
In a life-or-death situation, Peter Pedirou reacted quickly, and both of them raised their wands, sparking a fierce battle.
The light of magic flickered in the darkness, illuminating their angry faces.
However, during the battle, James Potter was unfortunately struck by a fatal spell and fell to the ground.
Sirius Black watched this scene in horror, his heart filled with grief and anger.
"No, James, hang in there. Lily and Harry need you."
Sirius Black sadly embraced James Potter.
Peter Pedirou seized the opportunity to escape, using it to create the illusion that Sirius Black had killed James Potter and himself.
"You can't do this! If you and Lily leave, what will happen to Harry?" Sirius Black's eyes were lifeless. It was all because of his arrogance that Lily and James were harmed.
“Hold on tighter, he might really be beyond saving.” Just then, I appeared in front of Sirius Black, holding Mingyue in my arms.
"It's you, Ayers." Sirius Black was awakened by my voice. If I didn't speak soon, I felt he would be consumed by his own self-reproach.
"Give James Potter to me, and I'll take him to Lily." I gently stroked his face, letting my bloodline merge with his sorrowful eyes.
Sirius Black was witnessing this scene for the first time. The black-haired boy before him seemed to be set ablaze, his hair turning red and his emerald eyes turning as red as flames.
The black robe he was wearing was instantly engulfed in flames, transforming into a fiery red robe embroidered with exquisite phoenix patterns. The phoenix feathers were so lifelike that they seemed ready to take flight at any moment.
The collar and cuffs of the robe were trimmed with gold, making it look exceptionally luxurious.
He was surrounded by flames, but the flames did not harm him; they did not provide any heat.
“We met once recently, can you trust me?” I didn’t snatch James Potter from Sirius Black’s arms; I waited for him to hand him over to me himself.
“Since James trusts you, I trust you too.” Sirius Black finally let go of James Potter.
"Good boy~ The Aurors will be here soon, so hurry up and leave. I'm taking James Potter with me." A flame enveloped James Potter's body, and I disappeared with him.
“Jaime, you and Lily must be alright.” Sirius Black didn’t leave. He was still consumed by guilt and wanted the Aurors to take him away so he could atone for his sins.
I never imagined that Sirius Black would still be imprisoned in Azkaban, but thanks to my intervention, Lily and James didn't die this time.
After I left, I also gave James Potter a drop of blood, buried him and Lily together, and planned to awaken them when Harry grew up.
When I finally settled things with James and Lily and was about to go find Sirius Black, I learned that the big idiot had volunteered to go to Azkaban. What a surprise! I wanted to punch him!
After thinking about it, I decided against it. I can't interfere with his choice. Let him go there to reflect and mature, so that he can be a good, mature, and stable godfather to Harry when he comes out.
If I keep acting recklessly like this, I don't know if I'll be able to cover for them next time.
Sirius Black is invisible now, and I've already met Riddle. How about we go see Severus, and then go back to real time?
An Apparition appeared at Severus's doorstep.
I don't know if the key he gave me will still be able to open his door.
When I opened the door, I was surprised. Is this door really that practical? It's been so long since I changed the key.
As soon as I went in and closed the door, a magic wand tip was pressed against my neck.
"Who are you? How do you have my house key?" Severus was brewing potions at home when he suddenly sensed someone entering his house, so he came out to check.
“Severus, it’s me, Ayers.” Perhaps the lighting in Severus’s house wasn’t very good, so he didn’t recognize me.
"Why are you here? I don't think I've ever given you a key to my house." Severus thought for a moment and realized he didn't recall ever bringing Ayers to his house.
"You gave me this key yourself, you'll know later." Indeed, he gave me the key himself, but it was from his future self.
"Lily, how is she now?" The last time Severus saw me was when he handed Lily over to me; he still doesn't know how Lily is doing now.
"Sleeping with James Potter." He sat down skillfully on the sofa in Severus's house.
“James Potter? What happened to him?” Severus turned around and looked at me abruptly. Wasn’t James Potter perfectly fine when he left the Potter’s house?
How come he ended up lying down with Lily a few days later? What happened?
“He was almost beaten to death by Peter Pediru, and I saw him bring him over to keep Lily company.” He took out two cups of coffee from his backpack and sat down to chat with Severus.
