"No matter how careful they were, they still couldn't resist taking action."
Moen and Jude came to the twin brothers. Of course, neither of them was dead, and Moen wouldn't let them die like that.
"But with just these two people, it's probably difficult to implicate the Duke of Savalou, isn't it?"
Jude looked serious. He felt that Duke Savalu would not leave such an obvious handle. Could these two dark mages really implicate Duke Savalu?
Moreover, even if these two dark mages identified Duke Savalu, how credible could their words be?
"Who said we had to rely on those two to identify the Duke of Savail?"
Moen gave Jiude a strange look.
"If Duke Savalu isn't stupid, he wouldn't personally go to the Dark Guild to submit a commission. These two have definitely never met Duke Savalu, and they might not even know who ordered them to do it. The Dark Guild doesn't have that many rules, so they don't need to meet with the commissioner at all."
Moen was well aware of this. These dark guild mages rarely met their employers; the employers mostly communicated directly with the guild.
"Then what's the point of arresting them?"
Jiude had a strange expression. If they couldn't involve the Duke of Savalou, wouldn't it be meaningless? Without getting the Duke of Savalou, they still couldn't truly break through the southern heartland of the kingdom.
"Make an example of someone to warn others."
Moen said, "Capturing these two people won't implicate Duke Savalu, but it will definitely implicate the Dark Guild behind them."
What needs to be done next is to eliminate this dark guild swiftly and decisively.
"To kill the chicken as a warning to the monkey."
After thinking about it, Jude realized that eliminating several of the dark guilds supported by Duke Savalu and thwarting his plans would be a way to demonstrate his strength, but would that intimidate Duke Savalu?
"Not only that, after we destroy this dark guild, it will be much easier to implicate Duke Savalu. Moreover, what will be revealed then will be beyond his control."
Moen narrowed his eyes. If Duke Savalu was sensible, then everyone could live in peace; but if he really wasn't...
Then Moon had to abandon his moral principles and directly accuse them of colluding with and supporting the dark guild.
This is not an injustice to Duke Savalou, because he really did have dealings with these dark guilds, a fact that cannot be denied.
That guy really did hire someone to kill, and it's very likely that this wasn't the first time he'd done it.
At that time, both the Magic Council and the government of the Kingdom of Fiore will come to hold them accountable, which will definitely make Duke Savalu look bad and ruin his reputation.
Neither the Magic Council nor the Kingdom of Fiore could tolerate this; once something is weighed, its weight becomes uncontrollable!
If Savalu does something, he will definitely leave a trace. He can't keep changing the person he contacts in the Dark Guild every time, and then kill the person responsible for the contact after the contact is completed. Otherwise, his trusted subordinates will be replaced too quickly.
If this wasn't done by a trusted confidant, then Duke Savalu must be incredibly audacious, because if this got out, he would inevitably face investigation and severe punishment from the Magic Council.
"Will these dark guilds preserve evidence of their connection with the Duke of Savalu?"
Jiude was still a little confused. He was a law-abiding citizen and had never contacted or harmed anyone through the Dark Guild, so he didn't know much about this kind of thing.
"Jiu De, do you think these mages in the Dark Guild follow the rules? Do you think they'd honestly not investigate the client's identity?"
Moen's answer left Jiude speechless for a moment, because the answer to the question was obvious: if the mages of the Dark Guild followed the rules, would they still join the Dark Guild?
"So... as long as you commission a Dark Guild, you're guaranteed a criminal record? And if that Dark Guild is wiped out, those records will fall into the hands of the Magic Council?"
Jiude stared wide-eyed, his face filled with disbelief.
"It didn't fall into the hands of the Magic Council, but rather into the hands of the guild that wiped out that dark guild. However, most guilds will hand it over, since the Magic Council is responsible for dealing with those employers, but that can't be ruled out."
Moen explained, "Some things are better left unsaid; once they're spoken, they seem despicable."
"It cannot be ruled out that some guilds may contact these people privately."
Jiude immediately understood: the list of employers obtained after eliminating the Dark Guild could also be a source of extra income.
"Most guilds still have principles and bottom lines, especially legitimate guilds with the strength to eliminate dark guilds; they generally wouldn't do such a thing."
Seeing Jude's newfound understanding of the magical world, Moen smiled and said that what he had just said was a bit exaggerated. Such a situation is rare in regular guilds. No one has the energy or time to extort money from a list.
"."
Jiude still looked shocked, as if he didn't quite understand you combat guilds. He had joined a guild before, and he and his wife Leila met in a guild, except they joined a commercial guild.
"Jiu De, you don't need to worry about the rest. Just continue with your work and wait for my message."
Moen manipulated several crows to grab the two brothers, then boarded the glider himself. He left the matters of the magical world to the mages to handle, and Jude didn't need to get involved in the rest.
This dark guild is incredibly audacious, but since they dared to take on this job, they must have been prepared for their demise, right?
When facing ordinary people, mages are restricted by various rules, but when facing the dark guild, which is also composed of mages, mages can go all out. Moen naturally will not hold back against the dark guild.
Soon, led by the twin brothers, Moen found the dark guild they belonged to. The two brothers were decisive and showed no intention of putting up a fight, especially the older brother who had experienced being covered in black feathers.
The older brother suffered all the hardships his younger brother never had. Physical pain was nothing compared to the feeling of suffocating and sinking slowly in the darkness, which was the most destructive to one's will.
Led by the two "traitorous" brothers, Moen found the dark guild within the Duke of Savalu's fiefdom.
"The Neck of the Swamp is built in the middle of a swamp. How do you usually live here? This place doesn't look like it can be self-sufficient, or even habitable."
Looking at the dilapidated and strangely designed guild hall in front of him, Moen asked with a strange expression.
"There are people in the guild who specialize in transporting supplies, and the local villages and towns will prepare everything for us, so we never have to worry about that."
The older of the twins, whose bodies were covered in black feathers with only their heads showing, answered.
This sounds a bit strange, as if they're being supported by local government funds, even though they're a dark guild!
"Who's behind that? It's so hard to guess."
Moen couldn't help but laugh. This Duke Savalu was indeed a true local tyrant. He even got involved with the local dark guild? Was this dark guild really something he kept under his wing?
But thinking about it, it's not surprising. When we met last time, Duke Savalu was surrounded by many mages, and probably among them was this "Swamp Neck" dark mage.
"The Cygnus Bronze Cloth!"
Looking at the "Swamp Neck" guild hall in the swamp with its gaping maw, seemingly ready to devour anyone, Moen immediately summoned the Cygnus Bronze Cloth and put it on. The swan helmet's wings spread out, and silver-white armor pieces attached themselves to his body one by one.
Once fully armored, Moen began to move, his movements as graceful as a swan about to take flight.
As Moen moved, the constellation Cygnus in the sky shone brightly, seemingly visible even in the daytime sky.
At the end of the dance, Moen clenched his fists and threw them forward, unleashing a torrent of icy magic that poured down his arms.
"Aurora Lightning Strike!"
Starlight showered down, and magic rapidly gathered towards Moen's body.
"Sizzle!"
A massive, freezing tornado containing lightning instantly swept out, accompanied by terrifying freezing air and crackling lightning.
The icy magic roared towards the swamp, crashing into the guild hall, which resembled a goblin with its mouth agape.
Wherever the blue-green magical surge passed, everything in the world was almost immediately covered by layers of ice. Even the damp, smelly swamp, where there was nowhere to step, was instantly covered with a thick layer of ice.
"Click-clack-click-clack!"
The howling icy magic washed over the guild hall, instantly freezing the entire building solid. The goblin structure with its gaping maw was frozen into a large ice sculpture.
The twin brothers gaped, speechless at the sight before them—it was magic completely beyond their comprehension.
This terrifying icy magic almost froze the entire swamp. The originally damp, smelly, green, and yellowish swamp world was instantly transformed into a frozen world, with the color changing from rotten yellowish-green to a holy cyan.
The magic emanating from Moen turned into frost, which condensed continuously in the air, making it seem as if frost and snow had suddenly fallen from the sky.
"The world changed color."
The older twin exclaimed in trembling amazement. The two of them were right next to Moen, and if it weren't for the black feathers covering their bodies, they would probably be frozen solid by now.
Moen ignored the twin brothers and strode forward, walking on the layers of solid ice until he reached the entrance of the "Swamp Neck" guild hall, which had been frozen into a large ice sculpture.
"Click-clack!"
The ice blocking the entrance to the guild hall quickly cracked and melted, opening a passage for Moen to enter.
Moen stepped into the guild hall, which was eerily quiet, as everything inside had been frozen solid. A whirlwind of freezing air swept through the area, freezing everything in its path.
People of all shapes and sizes sat or stood in the guild hall, lifelike, except that they were all covered with a layer of blue ice.
Stepping on the solid ice on the ground, Moen approached a middle-aged man and then gently tapped the ice off the man's body.
"Is it him?"
Moen asked the twin brothers who were being dragged in by two crows.
"That's right, it's him, our president!"
The twin brother nodded vigorously in response, looking at Moen as if he were a god.
Is this the legendary power of the "Rose Star Goddess"? No wonder she was able to defeat the "Ten Wizard Saints" twice!
"Sizzle!"
The ice melted, and the frozen middle-aged man regained his mobility.
"What?! What's going on?!"
Once he regained his mobility, the middle-aged man immediately began to speak in a trembling, stuttering voice, looking as if he had been freezing. Of course, it was hard to say whether he was freezing or frightened.
"Don't ask, just answer."
Moen's voice made the middle-aged man shudder. Looking at Moen's face, he was completely filled with fear.
"Is the Duke of Savalou financially supporting you?"
Moen asked the first question, feeling that this dark guild called "Swamp Neck" must be related to Savalu.
"It could be."
Seeing Moen's expression, the middle-aged man stammered.
This answer left Moen speechless. Had he guessed wrong? In reality, this dark guild wasn't that closely connected to Duke Savalu.
"It is or it isn't."
Moen spoke with a cold expression and an icy voice.
"Duke Esavallo did give us a lot of money, but to be precise, it wasn't support, it was protection money we collected."
The middle-aged man answered shivering, the chill in the air making his throat hurt.
"Protection fee"
Moen frowned as he looked at the dark mages in the guild.
The quality was mixed, or rather, quite mixed. They were all a bunch of insignificant nobodys. Even the guild leader was only so-so; not a single person in the entire guild could withstand his freezing aura.
"You third-rate, trashy dark guild dare to sit at the table and collect protection money? What's that Savaru guy up to?"
Moen found it puzzling. Couldn't any decent, legitimate guild easily take down such a dark guild?
This kind of guild is nowhere near as good as "Iron Forest," which is at least a well-known dark guild, while Moen has never even heard of "Swamp Neck."
"."
The middle-aged man blushed at Moen's words, wanting to refute but unable to. Compared to Fairy Tail, they were nothing, not even worthy of the other party's attention. But in reality, they did have some influence in the local area!
It can only be said that Fairy Tail stands too high and lacks understanding of the affairs of the lower and middle levels of the magic world!
