At 11:30 a.m. the next morning, the nine teams that had passed the test the day before stood in front of the simulated forest.
"Looking at the number of people, it seems like one team is missing. Yesterday, it should have been ten teams that passed." Matt Day was worried. "Could there be some other assessment we don't know about?"
Shirahoshi stood beside Might Guy, lazily glancing at the crowd. She met the gaze of Yamanaka Taiji from Class 2, the blond boy's eyes conveying a 'you're doomed' look. "Need you even ask? Of course, I failed the exam."
"Ah?!" x3
"So there are still people who didn't pass the exam." Uchiha Mikoto looked surprised.
Pharmacist Nonou: "I remember you said yesterday, teacher, that it was just us, Class 8, and Class 2, and that the third team was from this year's graduating class..."
"..." Shirahoshi was silent for a moment, then nodded to Nara Yu and Akimichi Yumi, who were still on friendly terms, in response. Akimichi Yumi pulled Nara Yu, who looked like she wanted to die and thought it was too much trouble, and said, "The idol is looking at her."
“Not all teams have the ability to gather and transmit intelligence.” Bai Xing looked at the three members of her own team. “So, you are considered a very strong team.”
At this moment, Shiranui Kumo, who was holding a senbon needle, had a bad feeling. "Hey, hey, hey—you're not going to cause trouble again, are you?! Are you planning to clear the stage for your own team this time?!"
Xi Ri Liu Yun glared at the two girls, who were about her age, with wide, jealous eyes: "!!!"
Bai Xing said calmly, "Yun Jian, don't make me laugh. No one can stop me from becoming a Chunin..."
"Even my most beloved disciples are the same."
"Prepare yourselves mentally for the teacher's all-out effort!"
Bai Xing turned her head, her serious gaze sweeping over her three disciples. "Teacher will absolutely not hold back, absolutely!"
"This time, you need to be prepared to die with your teacher in order to have a chance... to lose gracefully."
It only took the three members of Team 11 a few seconds to go from feeling a little overjoyed to breaking out in a cold sweat – they were no match for Shirahoshi-sensei, who could instantly kill a Chunin!
......
Chapter 26, the second Chunin Exam begins!
A black-haired man wearing a Konoha headband, a green vest, and holding a document is reading out the exam rules:
"The rules are simple."
"Before you enter the examination forest, each of you will be given one of the scrolls of the Heaven and Earth by the staff at the entrance of the examination hall."
“You take one of the scrolls, steal the other to combine them into two scrolls, one for heaven and one for earth, and head to the central tower.”
"The assessment period is 24 hours."
"Your mission is to gather intelligence, evade enemy ninjas encountered along the way, and even deal with traps, wild beasts, and poisonous insects that may appear on the battlefield..."
"Those who fall into the trap will be escorted away by the patrolling secret agents, and their exam qualifications will be invalidated."
After Akimoto finished speaking, the basic rules of the examination were concluded. His gaze swept over the thirty genin examinees and ten teams present:
"Although this is just a simulated battlefield and not a real battlefield, you must treat this mission as a B-level or even A-level mission."
"Furthermore, we are all ninjas of Konoha."
Competition is fine, but it must never be cutthroat.
"Is there anything else you don't understand?"
Upon hearing this, the examinees in front looked at each other and shook their heads, while a few ninjas shouted excitedly:
"no!"
“Very good.” Akimoto nodded, glanced in one direction, and made a gesture.
Soon, a ninja produced a life-or-death agreement for everyone to sign.
Having never participated before, Uchiha Mikoto stared blankly at the document in her hand.
"Didn't you say we couldn't kill anyone? Why did we have to sign this agreement?"
Upon hearing this, Shirahoshi, who was standing next to Team 11, casually signed his name with a pen, capped it, and explained, "That's because accidents are inevitable in ninja battles."
"Becoming a Chunin inherently involves facing many missions with high mortality rates, which can be considered a test of courage to face life and death."
"So that's how it is!" Yakushi Nonou nodded slightly and signed her name without hesitation, while Might Guy also shouted "Youth will not back down" and signed his name on the life-or-death agreement.
Upon hearing this, Mikoto Uchiha didn't ask any further questions and silently signed the document.
Shirahoshi looked at the terms of the life-or-death agreement and thought to herself, "As expected, genin have more freedom~"
"A Chunin? Even a dog wouldn't do that."
The purpose of this agreement is actually to prevent young ninja from becoming disabled or dying during drills, which could lead to unnecessary disputes between the village and the families of those involved.
During the Chunin Exams, if someone is injured or disabled, the village will provide free medical treatment—but disabilities cannot be fully recovered, let alone death.
This reflects the humane aspect of the Konoha Village Chunin Exams.
Compared to a certain village with a bloody mist where only one genin from each class graduates from the genin exam, and another village with a rock formation where thousands of genin go to play with the Raikage, it's fair to say that the village leaders don't care about the lives of genin at all. Konoha's system is the envy of ninjas from neighboring villages.

Soon, everyone completed the procedures for signing the life-or-death agreement. One by one, the proctoring ninjas came and led each team to an entrance or exit of the simulated forest. Shirahoshi walked along the familiar route and looked at the familiar red characters in front of her: 11.
"Why is it this hole again? I really don't want to crawl through any more holes." Bai Xing said with a long face, her eyes looking like a dead fish.
"Exam room seating is randomly assigned." The proctor, holding a key, turned to look at Shirahoshi behind him. "I remember you've taken this exam many times before. I think your name is...?"
Shiranui Kumo gave a wicked smile, immediately put her arm around the shoulder of the black-haired boy who had a bad feeling, and loudly introduced him: "You don't even know him."
"This is Shirahoshi, a six-year genin~ the successor to the ten-thousand-year genin."
"Pfft—" Xi Ri Liu Yun chuckled from the side. The proctor looked like he suddenly realized something and nodded slightly, saying, "Oh, it's you! I was wondering why you looked so familiar."
The proctor said as he unlocked the door:
"Being a ninja is inherently a dangerous job, and once you reach a certain age, your strength will stop growing."
"Perhaps changing careers would be better for you."
Shirahoshi shook her head. "No. I want to become a Chunin. Even if I'm a Genin for the rest of my life, I will become a Chunin through my own strength."
The proctor, holding the door lock, turned around and heard Bai Xing's words. A hint of helplessness crossed his face. He thought to himself, "This is just a greenhorn who hasn't experienced the cruelty of the ninja world yet. If being a ninja were a profession anyone could pursue, countless people would be doing it."
"Alright, you can go in when it's time." The proctor looked at his watch: there was still one minute left until noon.
Then, proctor Akimoto gave the order through the microphone to the proctor wearing an earpiece, and the exam officially began!
With three whooshes, the door brushed past the proctor. He turned his head, sighed inwardly, "Youth is truly wonderful," and then closed the door again.
......
Entrance number 44.
Class 11 rushed in headfirst, feeling excited and ready to fight to their hearts' content with this exam.
Tread-tap-
Entering the forest, the three stepped onto a narrow path below, their surroundings shifting rapidly as they moved along with the tree trunks. Just then, a venomous forest snake lunged, but Yakushi Nonou dodged it in time. She glanced back, then looked ahead again, continuing her charge alongside the two beside her.
"It's really scary."
"That snake almost bit me just now."
The surrounding environment was moving rapidly. Matt Day, who was standing next to him, said, "This assessment is not that simple. So we must remain vigilant at all times."
Just as the group was about to cross the jungle, Mikoto Uchiha was momentarily blinded by a bright light ahead, but she quickly managed to see what was happening outside:
"Stop!"
Tread-tap-
With six or seven tree trunks remaining as footholds before the light, Uchiha Mikoto stood in front of the two, half-crouched, eyes squinting, and immediately broke out in a cold sweat.
"It looks like there's a cliff ahead."
"Huh?!" x2
The three then fell from the tree trunk and carefully examined their surroundings for any traps. Just as they were about to leave the forest, a steel wire appeared to be gleaming in mid-air, blocking their path. Uchiha Mikoto raised her hand to signal them to stop.
The girl with long, straight black hair stepped onto the tree trunk and walked to the trap. She carefully examined the possible links to the trap and then looked up. There, she saw a fist-shaped white object tied to a branch.
The other two followed Mikoto's gaze and looked up.
“Is it a rockfall trap?” Matt Day asked.
Yakushi Nonou shook her head. "If I'm not mistaken, it should be similar to the trap I set for Shirahoshi-sensei before."
"It probably contains some kind of anesthetic fog."
Mikoto Uchiha landed and clapped her hands: "We can just go around it."
The two people behind her followed Mikoto slowly to a steep hillside in front of them: directly below was a dense forest.
And there are various unique environments in all directions.
This isn't a cliff, it's a mountain cliff.
Mikoto turned her head and analyzed, "At the beginning, everything seemed to be going smoothly without any surprises. Then, the bright light at the edge of the forest was used to blind people, thus luring those leaving the forest into a trap."
"What a brilliant plan."
These rock traps, placed on tree trunks, are specifically designed to target ninjas who can scale walls and leap across rooftops.
"The problem now is how we get down." Yakushi Nono walked to the front of the cliff and swallowed hard. The blonde girl was at least a hundred or two meters below the forest.
"Let's use a rope. This will save chakra and also ensure that nothing unexpected happens to us." Mikoto took out a rope she had brought and looked at the thick, large trees in the forest behind her.
Suddenly, Yakushi Nonou felt they shouldn't go down so early, so she lay down to prevent other teams from discovering them: "Wait a minute, Mikoto! It seems we have a high vantage point here, so we can observe the surroundings and confirm which direction the 'intelligence' we need to seize is in."
“That’s right! Nono, you really are something else.” Might Guy immediately followed Nono’s example and lay down on the ground, peeking out half his head to observe the forest below and the surrounding environment.
“Okay!” After saying that, Uchiha Mikoto remembered something and immediately turned her head to look at the other entrances on both sides. “But we also need to be careful that someone doesn’t get close.”
"I'll take charge of the guard duty!"
"I'll cover Dai's retreat. Mikoto, you have better vision with your Sharingan, so you can take charge of positioning."
"Then let's arrange it this way."
The three then began to divide the work and cooperate.
