34. You are the ones who should submit! Go! Zoro, Kuro, Sanosuke!
34. You are the ones who should submit! Go! Zoro, Kuro, Sanosuke!
Meanwhile, on the other side, Nami and the others also found the source of the shelling.
The White Pearl, the Black Cat Pirates' ship, and the Baratie floating restaurant slowly approached the source of the sound.
"Thirty ships in total! My God! Should we leave?" Fu Ning exclaimed.
Nami took the binoculars from Funing and squinted one eye at the distant sea.
A few kilometers away on the sea, a huge pirate fleet was gathering, with the three-deck flagship in the center standing out conspicuously.
"There are hourglasses on either side of the skull, signaling a threat to the enemy. There's no mistake!" Zoro muttered, his hand already on the hilt of his sword. "That's the Krieg Pirates!"
"It's even more exaggerated than the intelligence reports..." Kuro pushed up his glasses. "Thirty ships, at least three thousand pirates. And we only have three ships, with a total of no more than two hundred people."
"So I said we should—" Fu Ning was interrupted by Nami before she could finish speaking.
"It's too late." Nami put down her binoculars, took a deep breath, and said, "They've spotted us."
In the distance, several ships in the fleet had begun to turn and head towards them.
Then, more ships joined the encirclement, slowly approaching like a pack of wolves hunting.
On the sea, the sails of thirty ships stretched out in a continuous line, almost obscuring half of the sea surface, and the shadows they cast made the temperature in this area seem to drop by several degrees.
On the flagship of the Krieg Pirates, the Dreadnought Sabre, the burly Krieg stood at the bow, clad in his signature golden armor.
He carried that terrifying war gun on his shoulder—the barrel was thicker than an ordinary person's waist, and the tip had an exaggerated crescent-shaped blade, which was chilling to look at.
"Admiral! Three unidentified vessels spotted!"
A pirate rushed in, panicking, to report, "One of them... is enormous! Bigger than our Sabre!"
Krick squinted and looked ahead, his pupils contracting slightly when he made out the outline of the White Pearl.
"Interesting." Krieg laughed greedily. "A ship like that is worthy of me, Admiral Krieg! White... let's call it the 'White Reaper,' hahahaha!"
Immediately afterward, Klee raised his battle lance, the tip pointing directly at the White Pearl: "All men, listen up! Surround them! That white ship, I want it!"
"Yes, Admiral!" the surrounding pirates responded in unison.
The thirty pirate ships turned in unison, quickly deploying into formation like a well-trained army...
On the deck of the floating restaurant Barratier, Zhepu stood with a furrowed brow.
"Boss, do we need any help?" Paddy put down the spatula, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and asked.
Zeff nodded: "We'll see how things go. If the White Pearl is in danger, be prepared for battle! We're valiant chefs!"
Meanwhile, on the Black Cat Pirates' ship, Django nervously clutched his hat, his legs trembling.
"Zango...should we run? It's not too late to turn around, before they completely surround us..." Sam asked.
"Escape?" Zango swallowed hard. "Don't say that! You know what a Kloshman is!"
"Besides, everyone has witnessed King's strength, hasn't that?"
The atmosphere was somber on the deck of the White Pearl.
"We're surrounded..." Funing's face paled slightly. "What should we do, Nami?"
Nami bit her lower lip, forcing herself to calm down.
Norton handed the ship over to her command; she couldn't panic!
She looked around.
Zoro was ready for battle. Although his three swords were not yet drawn, his eager fighting spirit was already palpable.
Sanosuke's face was expressionless, but his eyes were sharp as knives, and his right hand remained pressed on the hilt of his ninja sword.
Although Kro is as ruthless as a viper, he is at least on their side for now.
She then looked towards the Baratie sea restaurant and the Black Cat Pirates' ship.
On Baratie, Zeff was looking this way, while the Black Cat Pirates' ship had already turned its cannons toward Krieg's fleet, clearly ready for battle.
"We can't run away!" Nami took a deep breath. "Turning around and running now will only expose our backs to them, making us easy targets. Besides, Norton said he'd leave it to us! We have to take over the Krieg Pirates for Norton!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Nami turned to face the crowd.
"All personnel, prepare for battle!"
Zoro, Sanosuke, and Kuro stepped forward and stood at the very front of the deck in a triangular formation.
Zoro was on the left, Kuro on the right, and Sanosuke in the middle; the three of them blocked the way to the cabin and the helm.
Just then, a figure descended from the sky!
Krick leaped from the Sabre, his golden armor leaving a blinding trail in the sunlight, and landed heavily on the deck of the White Pearl.
Immediately afterwards, dozens more members of the Krieg Pirates boarded the White Pearl using planks and grappling hooks, quickly taking up strategic positions and partially surrounding Nami and her companions.
"Not bad, it's a really nice ship."
Krick looked around, completely ignoring the people on the deck, as if the ship was already his.
"It's bigger and more imposing than my Sabre!"
Krik walked on the deck, his armor clanging with each step.
"It's decided! From this day forward, this ship is mine! No one is allowed to disobey my orders! You can choose to submit, or—"
"We're the ones who should be subduing you!" Nami interrupted Krieg.
Krick paused, then slowly turned around to look at the source of the sound.
A girl with short orange hair was standing by the ship's wheel. Although her face was a little pale and her hands were even trembling slightly, her eyes were firm and her back was straight.
"What...what did you say?"
Krick was utterly astonished, as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world, and exaggeratedly picked at his ear.
"Did I hear that right? Little girl, didn't you see how many ships I have? You're the ones who are surrounded!"
Krieg pointed to the surrounding sea. Thirty pirate ships had completed their encirclement, with the closest ones less than a hundred meters away from the White Pearl. The pirates on board were baring their teeth and brandishing their weapons, making all sorts of strange noises.
"I saw it," Nami said with a forced smile, trying to appear calm.
"Then why did you spout such nonsense?" Klee asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Having more ships doesn't guarantee victory!" Nami paused, then pointed to Zoro and his two companions. "If you want to fight, we're ready, but I think you'll regret it!"
"My companions are quite strong, you know! You'd better just surrender!"
Krick was taken aback for a moment, then burst into deafening laughter: "Hahahaha! Little girl, you've got guts! But I, Admiral Krick, am not easily intimidated! In this East Sea, no one has ever dared to say such a thing to me!"
He suddenly raised his battle spear, the tip pointing directly at Nami: "Since you don't know what's good for you, then I'll—"
Before he could finish speaking, two figures nimbly leaped onto the deck of the White Pearl and landed beside Klee.
The figure on the left is a thin man with a decadent and cold demeanor, deep-set eyes, purple lips, and an unkempt appearance.
The figure on the right was completely encased in a heavy, circular shield, two shields connected by iron rods, covering the front and back of his body. The shield was inlaid with huge pearls, and its surface was decorated with ironwork patterns and concentric circles.
"Akin, Palu, you're here too." Krick nodded with satisfaction.
The two are none other than the two combat captains of the Krieg Pirates, "Demon" Gin and "Iron Wall" Palu!
"Admiral, leave this minor character to us," Akin said hoarsely. "You can simply watch from the sidelines."
"That's right, that's right!" Palu patted his heavy breastplate, making a dull thud. "Leave it to me! I am a man of steel, undefeated in the last forty-nine life-or-death duels!"
With that, Palu took a step forward, striking an exaggeratedly muscular pose: "I've never shed a single drop of blood in battle, not a single drop! My complete immunity to injury is the best proof of my strength!"
"I am Palu, the man known as the Iron Wall of the Krieg Pirates! I am a true man among men! How about that? Pretty cool, right?"
On the surrounding thirty pirate ships, the pirates erupted in deafening cheers, whistles, and the clanging of weapons, applauding Krieg and his crew.
They formed a circle like spectators in an ancient Roman arena, and some pirates even started placing bets on how many minutes the White Pearl could last.
"An Iron Wall? Never heard of him." Zoro scoffed, drawing his Wado Ichimonji. "But he looks like a good punching bag. Perfect for testing out my new technique."
"Arrogance!" Palu roared. "I'll show you the price of provoking those who stand against the Iron Wall! I'll break every single one of your knives and grind you into mincemeat!"
Nami took a deep breath, the salty smell of the sea breeze filling her nostrils, which calmed her down a little.
She looked at Sauron and the other two: "I'm leaving it to you. Remember, don't damage the hull. This is Norton's ship; it's a real pain to repair."
Zoro grinned: "Don't worry, I'll be careful!"
Kro adjusted his glasses, and a cat-claw-like blade silently slid out from his sleeve: "That 'Demon' is mine."
Sanosuke silently drew his ninja sword, his other hand reaching for the kunai pouch at his waist, his gaze fixed on Krieg.
"Interesting, very interesting!"
Klick laughed and slammed his big gun heavily onto the deck, the shaft striking the planks with a dull thud.
"Then let me see what makes you so arrogant! Akin, Palu, attack! Let's finish this quickly, I still need to receive my new ship!"
The battle was about to begin! Zoro charged forward in a straight line, his three swords crisscrossing in front of him, drawing three cold, sharp lines.
"Three-Sword Style: Demon Slash!"
The attack was as swift as lightning; three swords slashed simultaneously from three different angles at Palu's chest, neck, and abdomen, sealing off any possibility of evasion.
But Palu neither dodged nor avoided it!
"Let me show you the defense of an iron wall!"
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Three crisp, almost ear-piercing metallic clangs rang out almost simultaneously as Zoro's three sword strikes landed on Palu's breastplate and abdominal armor, sparking dazzling firework. The powerful recoil caused Zoro's arm to go slightly numb!
Upon closer inspection, only three faint white marks remained on Palu's armor, without even a dent.
Palu remained motionless, and even used the force of Zoro's attack to spun around triumphantly, showing off his perfectly intact armor.
"It's no use! My armor is made of a special alloy! It's mixed with rare metals, and it's three times thicker than ordinary armor!"
"Invulnerable to swords and spears! In this eastern sea, no one can break through my defenses!"
As he spoke, Paru patted his breastplate, making a "bang bang" sound.
"See that? Even the marks are so faint! I, Lord Palu, am a man who has survived forty-nine life-or-death battles without ever being injured!"
Zoro took a step back and squinted as he carefully examined Palu's armor.
"Oh? Is that so?"
Zoro readjusted his swords, each pointing in a different direction. "Let me see if I can cut through them!"
"Come on then!" Palu thumped his breastplate, letting out a defiant roar. "I, Lord Palu, will stand right here and let you cut me down! If you can make me back a step, I'll admit defeat!"
...
On the other hand, the fight between Kro and Akin presents a completely different style.
Akin's movements were swift and fierce, his pair of iron ball short sticks wielded in a tight and impenetrable manner, each strike aimed straight for Crowe's vital points!
That was a skill honed purely for killing, a concise and efficient technique forged through countless life-and-death battles.
Meanwhile, Kro moved across the deck like a ghost, his cat-claw blade clashing with his short stick, each impact producing a crisp "clanging" sound.
"Not bad speed," Akin said coldly, "but not fast enough!"
He suddenly changed his move, feinting with his right short stick while simultaneously raising his left short stick from below, sending the iron ball hurtling towards Kro's chin with a whistling sound.
This move is insidious and cunning; if it hits, it could shatter a person's jawbone.
Kro leaned back slightly, using his cat-claw blade to parry downwards.
"clang!"
Sparks flew.
Akin's attack was blocked, but Klo also felt a heavy force coming from his arm.
This "demon" is much more powerful than he appears.
"I've figured out your moves." Kro adjusted his glasses, speaking as he moved closer. "You habitually use your right-hand short stick for offense and your left-hand short stick for defense. Each consecutive attack doesn't exceed seven strikes!"
Ajin's eyes narrowed slightly, and his attack quickened: "So what if you see through it all!"
He abandoned part of his defense, unleashing a barrage of crutches. Klopp retreated, his shirt ripped open.
"How arrogant!" said Akin.
Kro laughed: "Then take a look at this one."
His figure suddenly blurred, and three Clones appeared on the deck!
Three Clones attacked from different directions. Akin blocked two of the phantoms, but the third, in its true form, had already slashed his arm with its cat claws.
Akin retreated hastily, looking at his bleeding arm: "Illusion?"
"This is a new move I'm trying out! You're lucky to be the first to see it!" The three phantoms merged into one.
Ah Jin tore off his headscarf to bandage his wound: "I will take it seriously."
...
Meanwhile, the battle between Sanosuke and Krieg also began.
"Ninjas? There's such a profession in the East Blue?" Krieg scoffed. "Just some fancy tricks. Before my absolute power, all ninjutsu is a joke!"
He swung his war lance with a fierce motion. The terrifying weapon, weighing over a ton, seemed as light as a feather in his hands. The lance tore through the air with a terrifying whistling sound. With a single sweep, the area covered half the deck.
Instead of taking the hit head-on, Sanosuke used his ninja-like agility to dodge with a side somersault, while simultaneously throwing three shuriken in his hand.
Krieg merely tilted his head slightly, and his shuriken struck the helmet, sending up only a few sparks, leaving no mark whatsoever.
"This little trick isn't even enough to tickle you!" Krick laughed, swinging his gun again.
Sanosuke weaved and dodged through the shadows of gunfire, narrowly avoiding each attack. The guns slammed into the deck, leaving dents and sending splinters flying.
Sanosuke's brow furrowed deeper and deeper.
