Chapter 16 Garp and Kizaru's Vacation Ends
Chapter 16 Garp and Kizaru's Vacation Ends
Rewind a bit, to an unnamed island near Cocosia Village in the East China Sea.
Karp was sprawled out on a beach chair, a huge dog-head hat covering his face, snoring loudly.
Several fishing rods were stuck in the ground nearby, their lines dangling into the sea, but there was no movement.
A vacation? For him, it's really just about sleeping in a different place.
At this moment, a crimson pillar of light rose in the distance, exuding a soul-stirring, domineering aura unique to a certain man.
But like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, the ripples it creates are spreading across the entire East China Sea at an astonishing speed!
suddenly!
boom--!!!
Garp's massive body jolted violently, as if struck in the heart by an invisible hammer!
The dog-head hat was knocked away, and he instantly opened his eyes. There was no trace of sleepiness in his eyes, only a terrifying glint and an incredulous shock!
"This...this aura?!" Garp sat up abruptly, his fists clenching unconsciously, his knuckles cracking!
A sense of familiarity etched into his very bones, accompanied by a violent, unrestrained, and domineering aura that seemed capable of overturning the ocean, struck his senses.
He knew it too well! So well that he could picture the curve of that bastard's smile with his eyes closed!
"Roger?!" Garp roared in a low voice, his voice trembling without him even realizing it.
Impossible! That guy's bones should have turned to ash by now!
But this feeling... this feeling as if a nemesis is roaring in your ear... there's no mistake!
He suddenly looked up, his gaze fixed on the direction where the crimson pillar of light had disappeared—Cocoa West Village!
The initial surprise and doubt in his heart were instantly replaced by an indescribable anger, worry, and... a trace of excitement that even he himself was unwilling to admit!
"Luffy! What trouble have you gotten yourself into, you brat?!"
He glanced at the newspaper beside him; the news that Luffy from the East Blue was holding the Holy Grail mark was particularly eye-catching.
Originally, they came to the small island near Cocosia Village just to protect their eldest grandson.
Now that he senses this aura, he has no choice but to go.
Garp had no more doubts and ripped off his flashy beach shirt, revealing his well-defined muscles.
He roared at the dog-headed warship anchored on the shore: "Bogart!!!"
"Here! Lieutenant General Garp!" Bogart ran over quickly.
"Vacation canceled!!" Garp's voice boomed like thunder.
"Full speed ahead! Target: Cocoa West Village! Now! Immediately!!!"
"Yes!!!" Bogart was so shocked by the shout that his scalp tingled, and he rushed toward the warship without hesitation.
Garp leaped onto the bow of the warship, making the waves on the sea even more turbulent.
He stared intently in the direction of Cocoyasi Village, the Navy's cloak of justice fluttering in the wind.
His fists were clenched, wreathed in terrifying power fluctuations visible to the naked eye.
"Roger... I don't care if you're human or demon..." Garp's eyes burned with fierce battle intent, along with a hint of a smile.
"I'll make you die again!! Hahahahahahaha!"
The dog-headed warship's engines roared like never before, tearing through the sea like an arrow released from a bow, hurtling towards the center of the storm!
Garp's heartbeat had never been so strong, so powerful!
The passion that had been dormant for many years was completely ignited by the "reappearance" of the arch-enemy!
Meanwhile, over a vast area of the Grand Line.
A dazzling golden light was moving in an extremely strange way.
It didn't seem like it was in a hurry; it was more like it was... taking a walk? Or maybe it was just lost!
The golden light rushed towards Cocoa West Village at the speed of light for a while, then made a sharp turn without warning and leisurely drifted towards the New World.
After drifting for a while, it seemed to realize something was wrong, so it slowly turned around and swayed a couple of times in the direction of the windless zone... as if it were taking a stroll.
The golden light receded, revealing the lazy figure of Kizaru Borsalino.
He was sitting with his legs crossed, hovering in the air, holding a teacup that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
He took a slow sip and adjusted his sunglasses.
"Oh? Another person has witnessed Dilt in the New World? I know, I'll be there right away."
Just as he was about to drift slowly towards the new world, the Den Den Mushi on his wrist rang.
The Den Den Mushi mimicked Sengoku's furious face: "Borusalino!! Report your location!"
Kizaru complained to the Den Den Mushi on his wrist, "Oh, I'm currently in the first half of the Grand Line, Sengoku-san~ It's not that I'm not trying hard enough, it's just that Mr. Dilt is too good at running away~"
The faces of people from the Warring States period turned black.
"I just received news that Roger has been summoned as a Heroic Spirit in Cocoyasi! The world is in an uproar! And you're still circling at sea?!"
"Oh dear~ How scary, Roger has come out?" Kizaru's tone remained leisurely, without any sense of urgency.
"I'm troubled too. Look, ten minutes ago, my informant reported that Dieter was buying a newspaper in Loguetown; five minutes ago, another eyewitness said he was having afternoon tea on Beehive Island in the New World."
"Just now, I received another message saying that he seems to have wandered towards the calmer winds..."
He shrugged, looking completely innocent.
"While it might be a false report, it's not entirely impossible. After all, you should have witnessed Dilt's ability."
"You told me to keep an eye on him, so I have to get closer first. Even though I'm light, I can't chase three directions at the same time!"
"I guess I can only... well... wait for the rabbit to run into the tree stump~ After all, no matter how fast light travels, it still needs to know which tree the rabbit is under, right? Ugh~ This is so troublesome."
Sengoku, on the other end of the Den Den Mushi, was furious: "Shut up! Garp is already on his way to Cocoyasi Village at full speed!"
"I don't care what method you use! Find out what happened to Roger right now!"
"This incident should be resolved before tomorrow's newspapers come out! I will also send reinforcements immediately, that's an order!!"
"Within reach~" A glint flashed in Kizaru's eyes, but he quickly returned to his lazy demeanor.
"You really know how to give an old man a hard job~ Alright, alright, I'll go to Cocoyasi Village then, okay?"
"Hopefully, Mr. Garp can understand that the old man's legs are slow..."
The Den Den Mushi was disconnected.
Kizaru sighed, slowly put away the teacup, and it was unclear where he put it.
He glanced in the direction of Cocoyasi Village, then looked at the New World and the distance, and finally scratched his head helplessly.
"Honestly... can't I just collect my salary in peace? The overtime pay isn't much..."
He complained, but his body instantly transformed into a golden streak of light that was countless times faster than before.
In an instant, it tore through the sky and shot straight towards Cocoa West Village!
"Well... time to clock in at lightning speed and head to work~"
Cocoa West Village, on the ruins.
"Without the Pirate King's help, you are nothing!"
Ah Long's fierce tone hit me hard.
Luffy lowered his head and shouted, "Gum-Gum—Battle Axe!"
"Boom boom boom!"
Ah Long Paradise completely collapsed, and Ah Long's eyes rolled back as he fell in front of us.
Luffy stood before the limp Arlong, his chest heaving violently. He had won!
Using the last bit of strength, she completely blasted away the evil dragon that had trampled on Nami's hometown and harmed her friends!
Cheers and tears mingled as the joy of victory began to rise.
"Well done, Luffy!" Usopp shouted excitedly.
Zoro, leaning on his sword and panting, smiled despite the blood at the corner of his mouth: "Hmph, as long as you're not dead."
Sanji lit a cigarette, and Nami threw herself into her sister Nojiko's arms, bursting into tears—a release of eight years' worth of suppressed pain and the joy of regaining her freedom.
"It's over..." Sanji said softly.
Roger gave him a thumbs up: "Well done, kid!"
He laughed heartily, a truly hearty laugh. But the next second...
His eyes, which always held a smile, suddenly sharpened like an eagle's, instantly locking onto the distant sea.
A familiar voice rang out: "Roger!!!"
