He meditated in his heart.
The moment the command was given, the six sparrows took flight in unison, scattering in all directions.
Through the sparrow's eyes, Qingze "saw" the lush tree canopy, the ground covered with fallen leaves, and the tiny insects crawling on the tree trunks...
The perspective continues to extend, flying over the forest, below which are dense residential areas, crisscrossing streets, towering utility poles, and throngs of pedestrians.
An unprecedented sense of excitement surged within him, making him clearly realize that he had stepped into the realm of the extraordinary.
He clenched his fist excitedly.
When the sparrow flew away from him by about a hundred meters in diameter, an invisible sense of boundary emerged.
With a thought, he made five of the sparrows hover within the boundary, while ordering only the last one to continue flying outwards.
Once the sparrow was more than 100 meters away, Qingze immediately lost control of it.
However, the shared vision was not interrupted; he could still clearly "see" what the sparrow saw.
The streets of Kita-Senju are bustling with traffic and crowds, offering a unique view when viewed from above.
The sparrow eventually landed on a power line and leisurely preened its feathers.
Qingze did not sever his visual connection with the "out-of-place" sparrow; he wanted to test the duration of the spell.
At the same time, he controlled the other five sparrows to fly back, and then turned around and walked out of the grove.
……
The afterglow of the setting sun painted the sky a warm orange, and the soft light spilled onto the pond in front of the house, creating shimmering ripples.
Aozawa returned to the living room and opened the door to the outside, saying, "Maeda, this book is very interesting. Do you have any other similar books at home? Could you bring them out for me to look at?"
"Huh? Okay!"
Maeda Yuki braced herself on the table with both hands, slowly stood up, and then jogged into the inner room.
Before long, she ran back carrying a stack of books, her little face flushed from the exercise.
Qingze quickly scanned the books; they were all empty, with no new labels.
"Teacher, this is for you."
"Ah."
Qingze took the books and stuffed them all into his briefcase, then asked, "Your parents should be back soon, right?"
"Yes, my mom is a great cook! If you don't mind, would you like to stay for dinner?"
Yuki Maeda extended a warm invitation.
Qingze shook his head and politely declined, saying, "Thank you, but it's alright."
I have a dog at home, and I need to rush back to prepare dinner for it, so I'll have to take my leave now.
"Okay, goodbye teacher!"
Yuki Maeda waved goodbye with a hint of regret.
Qingze, carrying his briefcase, walked back into the grove.
He opened the bag, used his mind to control the five sparrows to fly inside obediently, then closed the bag, left the shrine, headed to Kita-Senju Station, and took the train back to Takadanobaba.
It was already close to the evening rush hour, and the carriage was extremely crowded with no empty seats.
Qingze, with a try-it-out mentality, squeezed through several carriages but did not find anyone with the "Goblin" tag on their head.
After getting off at Takadanobaba Station, he bought a birdcage and some bird food at a nearby supermarket, and then transferred the five sparrows from his briefcase into the cage.
Just then, a slight feeling of fatigue came from deep within my brain.
He immediately realized that using "Birds' Eyes" for more than twenty minutes in a row would make him feel tired.
At the same time, he also confirmed another thing: the sparrow that was out of control still had a stable visual connection.
This means that even beyond the 100-meter control range, the shared vision effect remains effective; however, he can no longer remotely control the sparrow's actions and can only passively follow its perspective to observe the world.
He dispelled the spell of the "Eye of the Birds".
The extraneous images in my mind vanished instantly, and the sparrows in the cage seemed to awaken from a dream, starting to chirp restlessly and hop up and down in the cage.
It seems that the magic did not harm the birds themselves.
Qingze looked at the little guys with a happy mood and joked, "Alright, you guys have a secure job now. I'll give you extra food when we get back."
……
Dinner, feeding the dog, and then a quick walk.
Qingze deliberately wandered around the nearby streets, hoping to find the red name tag again.
But his search yielded little result, which made him wonder if there was a limit to the number of tags he could see each day.
"Is this related to that strange dream?"
He couldn't be sure.
After returning home, he quickly washed up and went to bed early.
That dream came again tonight.
He dreamed that he was in the seabed a hundred meters deep, and sunlight pierced through the surface, forming shimmering spots of light.
There was no feeling of suffocation, only a sense of peace and comfort, like returning to one's roots.
The body slowly sank, finally stopping at a depth of 110 meters, hovering quietly, gazing at the pale blue above softened by the light.
Jingle Bell!
The piercing sound of the alarm clock suddenly shattered the peaceful dream.
Qingze suddenly opened his eyes, and what came into view was the familiar ceiling.
The morning air was slightly cool, but his mind was unusually clear, and he remembered every detail of his dream vividly.
"I had that dream again, this time it sank ten meters."
He muttered to himself, "It really is related to changes in my body."
However, this time the descent was far less than in the first dream.
Will this increase the number of tags he can see?
Qingze had no answer in his heart, but he still held an optimistic expectation.
If we could increase that, that would be ideal.
He is now full of expectations for the future.
Chapter 9 Goblin Lair
On an April morning, the air still carried the lingering chill of winter, and one could feel a slight coolness with every breath.
Qingze led Dahuang out of the apartment building.
It excitedly stuck out its tongue, and the white breath it exhaled instantly dissipated.
A light birdcage was attached to the slightly worn dog leash, swaying slightly with each step.
Inside the cage, five brown-gray sparrows huddled together, chirping anxiously.
With a thought, he activated "Eyes of the Birds," and an invisible spiritual force quietly spread from between his eyebrows, brushing across the birdcage.
The sparrows stiffened for a moment, then relaxed, their once bright and alert black eyes losing focus and becoming empty.
He opened the birdcage door and gave the command in his mind.
The five sparrows immediately flew out of the cage in an orderly fashion, flapping their wings and soaring into the sky.
In an instant, five completely different overhead perspectives appeared in Qingze's mind.
With its varied rooftops and crisscrossing streets, the view from the air is significantly more expansive than from the ground.
He immediately saw a glaring scarlet label in the northwest direction.
Goblin Nest
"hiss."
Qingze gasped and immediately commanded all the sparrows to gather in that direction to scout, while he himself pulled on the dog leash and ran quickly toward the target.
Big Yellow excitedly took off running after its owner.
The "nest" may seem close, but it is actually about one kilometer away.
Qingze stopped at a street corner about eighty meters from his target, pretending to be tired from running and leaning against a vending machine to catch his breath, while in reality he was observing intently through the eyes of a sparrow.
It was a two-story house with a courtyard.
A row of dense bamboo groves divides the front yard in two, with parking spaces on the left and the main entrance on the right.
The nameplate clearly reads "Sanada".
The sparrows flew around the house and found a second-floor window open. Although it had security bars, the gaps in the bars were large enough for the sparrows to easily pass through.
Qingze manipulated a sparrow to land on the security window, and it nimbly slipped through the gap.
Inside, thick blue curtains hung down. A sparrow walked to the windowsill, made a light swoop, and then quickly flapped its wings to adjust its posture, finally breaking through the barrier of the curtains.
The view of the bedroom came into view.
On a large bed, three men around thirty years old lay sprawled out, each with a different physique, but all showing signs of laxity and obesity due to lack of exercise.
Beside them huddled a woman in her early twenties, plain-looking and of average build, with lingering red marks on her exposed skin, silently telling the story of what had happened the night before.
The three men all had a scarlet "Goblin" tag above their heads.
Women, however, do not.
There were also some small props for playing scattered around the room.
But what bothered Qingze the most was that on the long desk against the wall, several computer screens were displaying what appeared to be surveillance footage from inside someone else's residence.
There were five households in total.
Each household has cameras installed in the bedroom, living room, and bathroom.
