Chapter 234: The Ultimate Conspiracy of the Void Incarnation

Chapter 234: The Ultimate Conspiracy of the Void Incarnation

As the previous battle ended, a dramatic change occurred deep within the rift. The shattered void tentacles gradually turned to ash, scattering throughout the rift. However, this apparent victory was actually the prelude to an even greater storm. The Observer, Lessa, and the Arbiter stood at the edge of the void abyss, their eyes fixed on the ever-expanding dark red vortex.

“It’s not dead.” The observer’s voice was deep, and the Star Chart Scepter in his hand trembled slightly, its blue light flickering. “The core of the Void Avatar has not been completely destroyed. What we just saw was merely an avatar of it.”

"That giant avatar was just an avatar?" A hint of anger flashed across the Arbiter's face. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his gaze sharp. "Then where exactly is its true form hidden?"

“Deeper.” The observer’s voice was wary. “We’ve destroyed its energy nodes, temporarily halting part of the crack’s expansion, but it’s reorganizing. This crack is essentially an extension of the will of the Void Incarnation. As long as it exists, the crack’s expansion will never stop.”

Lysa wiped the ashes off his spear, his gaze fixed firmly on the distance: "Therefore, we must find its true form. The deeper it hides, the weaker it is."

“Or, it’s gathering strength for a fatal blow,” the observer added.

The three exchanged a glance. Despite being severely exhausted, they had no other choice. The existence of the Void Avatar was an eternal threat; they could only continue deeper and confront the source of this nightmare.

The three continued their journey along the core of the rift. The surrounding scenery became increasingly distorted, the edges of the void blurred, and the ground seemed to float as if weightless. Strange images were reflected in the shattered mirrors: scenes of the rift eroding various dimensions of the universe. Countless stars collapsed in the darkness, and even the reflections of some dimensional guardians appeared, their faces filled with pain and despair.

“What is this?” Lessa stopped and stared at one of the mirrors. “Is it showing us the future?”

“No, it’s the past.” The observer stepped forward and gently touched the mirror, his expression growing increasingly solemn. “These are dimensions that have been corrupted by the Void Incarnation. Every expansion of the crack signifies the destruction of a dimension.”

The Arbiter snorted coldly, wielding his twin blades to shatter the mirror: "There's no need to look at this anymore. We know enough—we must kill it and end this!"

The observer did not stop them, silently retrieved the star chart scepter, and continued on their way.

“This is more than just destruction,” he murmured to himself. “The Void Avatar is not merely a destroyer; it seems to have some purpose… some ultimate attempt concerning the rules.”

After a long trek, the three finally arrived at an open space. This area was completely different from the broken landscape they had seen before; it resembled an ancient temple. The temple was composed of floating stone tablets, each covered with complex runes, from which a faint light flowed.

“This is…” Lysa stopped in his tracks, staring incredulously at everything before him, “A record of Originium?”

“That’s right.” A hint of surprise flashed in the observer’s eyes. “These runes record the origin of the universe’s rules. This place… is the remnant of what happened before the rules separated from nothingness.”

The adjudicator glanced disdainfully at the stone tablet: "It doesn't look like one at all. This is more like the lair of the Void Incarnate."

“These two things may not be contradictory,” the observer said slowly, walking to a stone tablet and gently touching the runes on it. In an instant, a powerful flow of information surged into his mind, making his eyes widen in shock.

“I understand…” the observer murmured to himself, “The Void Avatar is not the enemy of the rules of the universe. It was once part of the rules—the other side of the balance.”

"What are you talking about?" The adjudicator frowned, clearly uninterested in such a theory.

“Rules represent order, and nothingness represents chaos.” The observer raised his head and looked into the depths of the temple. “At the beginning of the universe, they were one. But as the rules expanded, nothingness was gradually squeezed out and became a discarded existence.”

Lysa gripped his spear tightly, a hint of unease on his face: "You mean, all of this is caused by the rules themselves?"

“Perhaps. The rules created life like ours, but the void also possesses self-awareness in a sense. Its expansion is for the purpose of returning to balance.” The observer closed his eyes. “That is the true purpose of the rift—it is not just about destruction, but about reintegrating the rules and the void to build a new universe.”

Just as the three were immersed in this shocking truth, a deep sound suddenly came from the depths of the temple. The sound seemed to come from all directions and carried an irresistible majesty.

"You've finally arrived."

The three immediately turned around warily, only to see a massive phantom slowly emerging from the darkness deep within the temple. This phantom was not a physical entity, but rather a form composed of countless tentacles and energy, with a huge and bright core of rules on its chest, radiating a light that was a mixture of dark red and gold.

“An incarnation of nothingness.” The observer’s voice was low.

"That's right, I am nothingness," the voice said slowly. "Everything you see is the result of the rules abandoning me. I never intended to destroy this universe—destruction itself is meaningless. What I want to do is reshape this universe, to let the rules and nothingness merge again."

"Don't listen to its nonsense!" The Arbiter suddenly swung his twin blades. "It's just trying to buy time. Once it finishes expanding, we'll all be dead!"

"You cannot understand." The voice of the Void Avatar carried a hint of mockery. "You are creations of the rules, inherently incapable of accepting the existence of nothingness. But have you ever considered that the existence of the rules is merely to maintain their own continuation, and you, the guardians, are nothing more than its pawns?"

Lysa gripped his spear tightly, his gaze coldly fixed on the avatar of nothingness: "No matter what you say, we will not let you succeed. Rules or nothingness, we only protect the present moment of the universe."

"Foolish existence." The avatar of nothingness sneered, then raised its enormous arm, and a dark red beam of light shot out from its core, heading straight for the three people.

The three quickly scattered, dodging the beam of light. But after the beam struck the ground, the entire temple began to shake violently, countless floating stone tablets were shattered into pieces, and the light of the runes quickly dimmed.

"It's destroying this place!" the observer shouted. "We can't let it ruin these records!"

Leisa and the Arbiter launched a counterattack simultaneously. Leisa raised his spear high, transforming it into a golden meteor that shot straight towards the core of the Void Avatar; the Arbiter, meanwhile, unleashed two blazing waves of fire from his twin blades, slashing fiercely at the Void Avatar's arm.
