Chapter 139 Familiar Faces
Chapter 139 Familiar Faces
"Finally arrived, what a tiring experience!" Uchiha Ye sighed as he looked at the building standing tall in the snow.
Yamato was speechless. Uchiha Ye barely walked a few steps on this journey, relying entirely on his summoned beasts for transportation.
This was completely different from his usual rushing journey; "How should I put it, I didn't get to enjoy the process."
"Let's go in!" Itachi led Uchiha Hajime inside, hand in hand.
"Looks like we're not the last team to arrive."
Pushing open the door, I found over a hundred people inside, with at least fifty or sixty more who hadn't arrived yet.
Uchiha Ye spotted Lone Star in a corner, and the two exchanged a glance before immediately looking away.
Lone Star was feeling guilty, while Uchiha Ye was afraid Itachi would see through her.
Although it was only for a moment, she noticed Payne sitting next to Lone Star.
"What is Pain doing without the Rinnegan?"
Although Lone Star had exchanged information with her beforehand, actually meeting her was still quite strange.
Uchiha Yo felt that this game could no longer be viewed through a normal lens.
As Itachi followed Ye's gaze, he sensed a dangerous aura emanating from the boy. "He will definitely protect Ye this time."
At this moment, Uchiha Ye noticed a familiar face: Kisame Hoshigaki from Kirigakure. He must have been sent to gather intelligence. Not far from him was Utakata, the Six-Tails Jinchuriki, whom he had met once before.
She didn't see any familiar faces in Sunagakure, and in Iwagakure, she didn't recognize anyone except Deidara. Deidara was probably the youngest ninja there.
As for Kumogakure, Uchiha Ye recognized Darui, who was disguised, and said, "What a shameless person, actually mixing in with genin to participate in the Chunin Exams, unlike her who was originally a genin."
It was quite surprising that all four other teams from Konoha, besides their team, successfully advanced to the second round.
While she was observing others, many people were also paying attention to her.
Not seeing any familiar faces, Uchiha Ye decided to lie down for a while.
Itachi turned around and saw Ye lying on the table. He took out a piece of clothing and draped it over her shoulders. The noise inside did not disturb her sleep at all.
Lone Star was in a similar state, half asleep with his chin resting on his hand, while young Payne stood protectively beside him.
About an hour later, a Cloud Village Jonin walked in.
"The three days are up. Congratulations to all the candidates present for qualifying for the second round. You may now choose to have a meal or find a room to rest."
"The second exam starts at 7:00 AM tomorrow. Please don't be late."
After making his announcement, the Cloud Village Jonin turned and left.
"Ye, wake up..." Itachi called out softly as the others had almost left.
"Hmm? Has the second match started?" Uchiha Ye asked, rubbing his eyes.
"No, it doesn't start until tomorrow!"
"Are you going to the cafeteria for lunch?" Itachi asked.
"Itachi, you go ahead, I'm not hungry!" she replied with a yawn. "By the way, where's Yamato?"
She looked around and realized that Yamato wasn't there; it was just her and Itachi left.
"Yamato has to leave early, but he'll be back for the second exam tomorrow," Itachi explained.
Bang! Bang! Bang! ...
"Itachi, did you hear that sound?"
"It seems to be coming from the cafeteria," Itachi guessed, based on the direction of the sound.
"Want to go see a play?" Uchiha Ye suddenly perked up.
"No, let's go back to our room and rest." Itachi grabbed Ye's hand and left.
"Overbearing Itachi," Uchiha Ye muttered to himself.
That being said, if she hadn't shown a happy expression, one would have thought she was very dissatisfied with Itachi.
The next day, Uchiha Ye was woken up early by Itachi. After a quick breakfast, he followed Itachi to the second exam venue, where Yamato had been waiting for a long time.
At 7:00 AM sharp, Killer Bee reappeared.
Good morning everyone... Yay!
"Now I'll be explaining the second round of the Chunin Exams... Yay!"
"The second test will be a scroll-grabbing battle in the 'Snowy Wilderness,' which is the ultimate survival battle... Oh yeah..."
"The scrolls are divided into two types: the Book of Heaven and the Book of Earth. Half the teams will receive the Book of Heaven, and the other half will receive the Book of Earth... Yay..."
After rapping such a long verse, Killer Bee paused for a moment before continuing with hand gestures, "Yo! Yo!!"
"The qualification for this exam is to reach the central stronghold of the 'Snowy Wilderness' while carrying both the Heaven and Earth Scrolls... Yay!"
"The deadline is 120 hours, and we'll be self-sufficient in food. Yay..."
"This exam is extremely dangerous; you could lose your life here. Those who wish to participate, please step forward now to sign the waiver and receive your scrolls... Oh yeah..."
"Commentary complete, Baka yarou...ku ge yarou..."
What was supposed to be a life-or-death exam, after being explained by the examiner in a rap style, completely lacked any tension and only made me feel incredibly awkward.
"Ye, you can have the scroll." After the three signed the life-or-death agreement, Itachi took the scroll and handed it to Ye.
"No, I'm afraid it will cause chaos."
Upon hearing this, both Yamato and Itachi showed expressions of confusion.
Uchiha Yoh then took out a bag filled with scrolls.
"Ye, what are you doing?"
"This is a scroll of heaven and earth that I specially made. I plan to sell it to earn some pocket money," Uchiha Ye said with a chuckle.
"Uh, surely no one would be that stupid!" Yamato's lips twitched involuntarily.
"Anyway, the scroll can't be opened, so you can't tell if it's real or fake. Whoever buys it is unlucky. Besides, it's pretty good for luring enemies." Uchiha Ye patted his backpack and grinned mischievously.
"I'm sorry to trouble you for the next period of time."
These words left Itachi and Yamato somewhat confused. As soon as they stepped out of the spot where they had taken the scroll, Uchiha Ye immediately stirred up a wave of hatred, saying, "If you have the guts, come and challenge me with the Heavenly Scroll I'm holding. I'll be waiting for you at entrance number 27."
After she finished speaking, she threw the scroll into the air so that everyone present could see it clearly.
"They actually fooled us?" Yamato was shocked. They clearly had the Scroll of Earth.
"No, no, this isn't the time to think about that. We need to focus on what we're going to deal with next." Yamato suddenly realized he'd been led astray.
Itachi was slightly taken aback by Ye Fang's harsh words, but he quickly recovered and said, "If Ye likes to play, then play along with her." His face was full of doting affection.
Uchiha Ye walked with an arrogant swagger, exuding an air of dominance. "Let's make Konoha famous, starting now."
If Hiruzen Sarutobi had known, "There's no need for this kind of fame."
The cold wind rustled the leaves, causing the snow that had accumulated on the trees to fall from time to time.
With a 'plop', a clump of snow hit Uchiha Ye heavily on the head. She rested her chin on her hand in the snow, looking utterly dejected. This was the thirteenth time she had been hit like that.
Yamato, though far away, noticed the situation. He turned his head away, covered his mouth, and laughed so hard his shoulders twitched.
Itachi realized for the first time that Ye's luck seemed to be not very good. Even though there was no snow above her head, a gust of wind would send snowflakes hitting her right on the forehead.
“Someone’s coming!” Uchiha Ye gestured to indicate.
These are ninjas from the Land of Grass. They seem quite weak. "No fun. Yamato can handle this alone."
Yamato resigned himself to having such a companion. After he tied the three of them up, Uchiha Yoh began her sales trip.
After being brainwashed, the three from the Land of Grass left with gratitude, carrying the Heaven and Earth Scroll, and leaving behind a bag of food and all their money.
"That works too!"
Although he had already experienced it once before, Yamato still felt it was a dreamlike experience. He held the money that Uchiha Ye had just given him and fell into deep thought.
He couldn't help but put himself in her shoes, thinking about what she had just said, and he even had an urge to make a purchase. "That's terrifying."
