Chapter 74 I've Become Charlie?
"Gryffindor, five points deducted. The points will be added back when Mr. Heath submits that five-foot apology."
As soon as Professor McGonagall finished speaking, two deep thuds echoed throughout the classroom.

One moment the young Gryffindor wizards were helpless, and the next they were relieved. It was just a matter of points; they had added so many points before, so it was reasonable to lose some now.
The class ended quickly, and no one came to cause trouble for Kane. Good. It seems that everyone at Hogwarts is a normal person and no one would come looking for trouble over trivial matters that could lead to expulsion.
Another thing is that although Kane thought it was perfectly reasonable to deduct points, Hermione obviously didn't think so. In the common room, she watched Kane finish writing that five-foot-long self-criticism by the fireplace before nodding her head.
"Although every word you write is written like Percy's—thin and tall—Professor McGonagall shouldn't mind," Hermione said, nodding.
"Thank you for the compliment. I'll go find Professor McGonagall now." Kane took the apology report and left the common room.
After submitting his apology to Professor McGonagall's office and getting his five points back, he immediately went to Snape's office.
"Enter!"
Soon, Snape saw Kane walk in with a smile on his face.
"Professor, I need to go to Professor Quirrell's office later, so I'm here to pick up a bottle of brain mist potion." Kane knew that Snape particularly disliked him, so he said with a smile.
"Go get the silver one on the shelf yourself," Snape said without looking up.
"Okay." Kane nodded and was about to go to the shelf to get it, but suddenly Snape remembered something unpleasant. Ordinary potion ingredients could be turned into frog leg sandwiches just by being touched by Kane.
What about his own potion stand?
"stop!"
Kane, who was about to get the potion, was startled and almost threw the Shadow Blade away.
"What's wrong, Professor?" Kane asked, bewildered and deeply shocked.
"Stay there and don't move. I'll get it for you." Snape said, his eyes fixed on Kane, making sure Kane's hands and any other part of his body didn't touch anything in his office except the floor.
Finally, he placed the potion on a tray, had Kane carry the tray, and escorted Kane out of the office.
Kane shrugged helplessly. Professor Snape... he must have some issues too. Well, that's normal. What professor doesn't go crazy sometimes?
He opened the Brain Fog potion, drank it all in one gulp, burped, and then turned around to knock on the door: "Professor, the potion bottle."
"smash!"
"Where's the tray?"
"Melt it in the kitchen!"
Kane:
'
...oh."
After casually placing the potion bottle in the corner and using the tray as a shield in the hands of a passing armored figure, Kane finally headed toward Quirrell's Defense Against the Dark Arts office.
"You don't seem very happy," Quirrell, or rather, Voldemort, asked Kane in the office.
"I might be a little happier if you could change the scented oil in your office." As soon as Kane finished speaking, Voldemort waved his hand, and the scented oil smoke disappeared instantly. The office window was also opened, and gusts of white air blew in.
"How is it?"
"That feels good."
"Very good, Kane. Thanks to the magic I witnessed three days ago, I have specially tailored a magic learning plan for you." Voldemort said, handing Kane a piece of parchment from his desk. Unlike other professors, it didn't have densely packed reading lists on it, but rather simple and straightforward spells.
Most of them are polymorph spells, and a few are natural spells, such as summoning a large area of darkness to hide oneself and the enemy. These are mostly used for escaping. Alternatively, they are weather spells that can directly strike the enemy with lightning in the open.
"Wow, Professor Kiro, why didn't I come to you to learn magic sooner?" Kane looked at the teaching plan in front of him with great interest. Although it might lead to some minor problems such as an unstable foundation, the feeling of improving combat power immediately was really great.
"This is not your fault. You are already far superior to those mediocre people who turn a blind eye to knowledge. Let's try out Shadow Emergence first."
As Voldemort spoke, he pulled out his wand, but Kane was shocked to find that Voldemort seemed to be depriving him of his sight. However, he quickly realized that this must be the Shadow Smoke that Voldemort had mentioned. Starting from the wand, one after another, dark cracks filled the entire room until it was completely filled.
People inside this smoke screen are truly pitch black, let alone enemies.
Voldemort quickly waved his wand again, and the Shadow Smoke returned to his wand in strands.
"To be honest, this spell isn't very useful against truly talented wizards, because they can sense the magical fluctuations in your body. However, for a little wizard like you who likes to wander around at night, dodging that Squib shouldn't be a problem. The spell is called Shadow Surge. The trick is to feel the magical energy within your body flowing out of your wand like water or smoke."
After saying that, Voldemort took a few steps back: "Give it a try."
Kane nodded, took out his wand, and murmured, "Shadow Surge."
Almost instantly, the magic power within him, which was not particularly well-behaved to begin with, burst forth like a floodgate being opened, finding a loophole and surging out wildly. One after another, pitch-black cracks appeared in Voldemort's eyes, ultimately leaving only a semi-circular black spot in the center of his office.
Voldemort took another step back: "Perhaps you could try expanding the area."
Kane was delighted to hear this, and without any need for restraint, the black spots in the office began to spread and envelop the entire office in an instant.
"Very well, Kane. You should know that the darkness in your spell is created by your magic. So what if we replace your magic with your shadow? Remember this feeling, and try it."
"The trick is like magic: don't treat your shadow as a solid weapon, treat your shadow as water, and fill the room."
When Voldemort's deep voice came from the darkness, Kane even felt that this teacher was so good that he should pay tuition to him.
However, he quickly realized that although neither of them said it, in their hearts, the other was probably already dead.
One should not invest any unnecessary emotions in the dead.
However, it's still worthwhile to listen to lessons taught by the dead.
Kane experienced the feeling Voldemort had described, gradually converting all his magic into shadow. Suddenly, he raised an eyebrow in surprise.
I can clearly see that the shadows filling the entire office are my own, but unlike before when it was pitch black, I can see things now.
Voldemort, on the other hand, was different. In the previous darkness, he could use the fluctuations of magic to locate Kane, but now he could not.
It's a mixed bag of emotions. Kane was still feeling the shadows that filled the entire room, shadows that he could control at any time. Whenever he needed to, he could use these shadows to destroy anything in the office, including Voldemort in front of him, of course, when Voldemort was off guard.
But in just a moment, he suddenly realized something terrifying.
How come my current actions are so similar to those of a certain older sister who likes to hide in the shadows and secretly grope me?
...Am I Charlie now?
