Chapter 3 Scarface Causes Havoc in Gringotts
Chapter 3 Scarface Causes Havoc in Gringotts
The oath was spoken in a chilling tone, like the hoarse wail of a demon, and even Hagrid shuddered upon hearing it.
Merlin's beard! What exactly happened to Harry at the Dursleys'? He seems a bit... crazy, like that Auror named Mad-Eye.
After Harry finished bowing, Hagrid hurriedly called out, "Oh, Harry, quickly put your hand over!"
He pulled an octagonal pink parasol from inside his coat, touched Harry's palm with the tip of the parasol, and the wound was healed.
Harry asked in surprise, "Is this magic?"
"Excellent!" Hagrid tilted his head back proudly, then whispered, "But don't tell anyone about this, I can't use magic..."
Harry thought to himself: This magic is really useful. If I had learned it properly, how could my second brother have been ambushed by that evil Taoist? Even to avenge our parents, I need to make a trip to Hogwarts.
Seeing that he had calmed down, Hagrid breathed a sigh of relief and said, "But Harry, I'm sorry, you should know that the Man of Voldemort is dead."
Harry said, "If he's dead, then there must be a body?"
Hagrid was momentarily at a loss. "Oh... oh, Harry, no one has seen him since he tried to harm you but was hit by his own Unforgivable Curse."
Harry sneered, "If we can't find the body, how can it be dead? Even if it really is dead, I'll dig up its grave, break open its coffin, and hack and whip that bastard's corpse to vent my anger!"
His words were so venomous that they made Hagrid break out in a cold sweat.
Crazy Gorgons! What on earth happened to little Harry at the Dursleys'? I'd rather have adopted him...
Hagrid, with Dumbledore on his mind, took Harry to a house to stay overnight. The next day, they went to London to find Diagon Alley to buy the necessary items for entering the school.
Now, this opposite alley, like the horse-riding street of Bianliang City, is brightly lit day and night, with a constant stream of carriages and horses. However, all the passersby are sorcerers.
If you ask why, there is only one reason: this time, ordinary people have never heard of magic, which has separated wizards from Muggles.
Harry was surprised. Back in the Song Dynasty, even the farmers and weavers, and the ruffians in the city, knew that there were many strange people in the world. How could the magical world be so secretive?
Unable to resolve this question, Hagrid strode into the Leaky Cauldron. When he reached the courtyard surrounded by walls, he lightly tapped the bricks with his parasol, causing them to scatter and reveal a path leading to the outside world.
Harry exclaimed, "Wonderful! Wonderful! This magic is truly remarkable!"
"Of course, magic is the most wonderful thing in the world," Hagrid laughed. "Come on, Harry, let's go buy you your school supplies. Hmm... wait a minute, where did I put the shopping list?"
If it came to purchasing items, it would certainly cost money. Harry was a poor man and intended to write an IOU, but Hagrid said that his parents had left a large sum of money in a money exchange before their deaths, so the two of them went to Gringotts.
As for Gringotts, there are poems by bards to attest to its excellence:
Gringotts is luxurious and magnificent, surpassing even the celestial realm.
Such a wondrous sight is hard to find anywhere else in the world; the Fairy Bank stands proudly at the edge of the sky.
Upon entering the hall and glancing around, Harry thought to himself: How extravagant! Even the grand hall of the Zhao Emperor is probably no more than this.
Looking again at the demons on the long table, I was astonished that such ugly creatures existed in the world.
Hagrid called a goblin to lead the way, and the group boarded a minecart and sped underground like lightning.
Upon opening the door to Porter's vault, one is greeted by stacks of gleaming, dazzling, and breathtaking coins.
The gold is Galon, stacked hundreds and thousands of times over seven feet high, standing like a golden mountain; the silver is Sike, piled up in the corners and scattered, like a silver river pouring into the bottom; the bronze is Nat, a thick layer neatly laid out, like a bronze dragon lying on the ground.
As soon as the door opened and the wind rushed in, the gold, silver, and bronze all started to hum and buzz, making one's heart tremble and eyes gleam.
Harry untied the bag, which was stuffed full of gold, silver, and bronze coins.
Next, the two went to vault number 713, where Hagrid retrieved a gray cloth bag for someone.
Harry, finding this strange, asked, "Brother, you actually work as a镖师 (bodyguard/escort)?"
Hagrid didn't know what a dart was, but when Harry asked about the contents of the gray cloth bag, he laughed and said, "This is something I retrieved for Professor Dumbledore. As for what's inside, that's a secret."
After the two returned to the front desk, Harry asked the goblin named Gripper, "Can you exchange this for pounds?"
The goblin with slicked-back hair chuckled, "Oh, of course, sir. Gringotts is certainly an option. How much would you like to exchange? One Galleon is five pounds."
Harry had never used money before, so he didn't know if it was a good deal. Remembering it was a government money exchange, he tossed the bag aside and said, "Give me two thousand Galleons!"
Pull-ring and the fairy beside him exchanged glances and couldn't help but sneer.
If even the savior of these wizards, the famous Harry Potter, is so foolish, what can possibly stop the resurgence of the goblins?
Hagrid was a big, burly man, but Harry was a perceptive person, and he could easily see through the mockery.
Suddenly, a fist slammed into Ragnarok's face. Harry yelled, "You inhuman beast, what are you laughing at! Do you think your Grandpa Potter is easy to mess with?!"
"Oh! Harry, what are you doing?"
With that punch, the ring-up fell with a howl, and several goblins rushed over. Hagrid quickly picked up Harry and wrapped him in his arms.
"Someone's been killed! The famous Harry Potter has killed someone!"
Pulling the ring and howling, Harry in Hagrid's arms grew even angrier, "You son of a bitch! You dare to yell! Take my money from Gringotts!"
The fairy manager who had rushed over was startled upon hearing this.
If all the money in the Potter vault were withdrawn, that would be one thing, but the Potter family's vast wealth, not to mention the Life-Giving Spirit and the Energy-Boosting Elixir, the Quick-Smoothing Hair Serum alone, distributed by the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans, would be enough to cripple Gringotts.
With a sudden thought, the fairy supervisor rushed to the pull ring, spread her fingers, and slapped it viciously, yelling, "You damned beast! What did you die for?!"
The pull tab was snapped so hard it made him see stars. The goblin manager bowed and said, "I apologize, esteemed Mr. Harry Potter. I apologize for its rudeness."
With that, he ordered a goblin to prepare ten thousand pounds, which he handed to Harry along with the money pouch. "Mr. Potter, this is Gringotts' apology."
Harry jumped down from Hagrid's arms and cursed, "If you fall into my hands again, you'll be laughing for a day, but you won't be screaming for a lifetime!"
After taking the money and leaving the money exchange, Hagrid finally breathed a sigh of relief, then said with annoyance, "Crazy Gorgon, Harry, Gringotts is a goblin bank! What were you thinking?"
Harry frowned and retorted, "How did these goblins manage to control the lifeline of gold, silver, and food?"
Hagrid blinked, momentarily at a loss for words.
"Oh... Harry, it's been like this ever since that great battle, when the goblins lost to the wizards."
Before Harry could speak again, Hagrid pulled him away. "Come on, little wizard, these are matters for the Ministry of Magic to concern you with. What's more important for you right now is to buy a wand."
A magic wand?
Harry said: That's not bad. I can't lift ironware that weighs dozens of kilograms these days. I can just use a stick instead.
When they arrived at Ollivanders wand shop, Harry pushed open the door, and as soon as the bell rang, he shouted.
There's a saying: "A short stick, level with eyebrows, can raze the century-old shop in Diagon Alley. A mere utterance of the Dark Lord's name will terrify the old shopkeeper to his core. With the Western wand in hand, the Eastern fiend begins to manifest." But what astonishing words Harry utters remains to be seen in the next chapter.
