Chapter 21 Crabs Without Garlic Sauce
Chapter 21 Crabs Without Garlic Sauce
Qin Chuan ran towards the sound, bypassed a group of black reefs, and saw the other side of the beach.
A woman huddled in the shadows between two large rocks.
He was wearing an orange hoodie and several ripped denim shorts. The hoodie was covered in sand and dried sea salt stains, and the collar was stretched and deformed. His hair was disheveled and his face had a few small scratches.
Her hands and feet were chafed by the rocks, and there were obvious scabs on her fingertips and toes.
On the rock next to her were a few small crabs and some clam shells, which looked like they were the ones she had dug out and eaten earlier.
As Qin Chuan approached, his pupil technique automatically activated, and a string of data popped up in his field of vision:
[Human, female, 23 years old. Height 171cm, weight 52kg. Minor abdominal contusion, no internal bleeding. Severe dehydration, extremely low hunger level. Multiple abrasions and superficial wounds on hands and feet, no risk of infection. Normal body temperature. Vital signs stable but weak.]
There's nothing seriously wrong, just hunger and thirst.
Hearing footsteps, the woman struggled to lift her head.
Qin Chuan saw her face clearly and thought to himself, "Huh?"
He knew this person, and he often saw him on his phone.
Yang Mimi.
A food blogger with tens of millions of followers, she often livestreams cooking on various platforms. She's very good-looking and has a funny personality. Qin Chuan used to watch her videos a lot to pass the time when he was working the night shift as a security guard.
Qin Chuan had seen her from afar several times while on the cruise ship.
Yang Mimi is a special guest on the cruise ship, responsible for hosting live food broadcasts for first-class passengers.
She always appeared dressed beautifully, surrounded by a crowd of people, whose laughter could be heard even half a deck away.
The food blogger is now curled up between two rocks, his lips are chapped and cracked, his eyes are sunken, and he looks utterly disheveled.
When Yang Mimi saw someone approaching, her eyes lit up instantly, but quickly dimmed again, as if she wasn't sure if the person in front of her was real or not.
"You, you're human, aren't you?"
Qin Chuan squatted down: "If it's not human, could it be a ghost?"
Yang Mimi stared at him for a few seconds, confirming that the person in front of her was indeed alive. All her strength suddenly dissipated, and she collapsed onto the reef.
"Great, finally someone's here... I thought I was the only one who survived..."
Qin Chuan glanced at the pile of crab and clam shells beside him: "How long have you been here?"
"I don't know. When I woke up, I was on these rocks, surrounded by water. I was only able to climb ashore when the tide went out."
As Yang Mimi spoke, she picked up a small crab from the side and sighed.
"This crab is practically inedible without garlic sauce; it's terribly fishy to eat raw, I almost threw up."
Qin Chuan was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.
"Girl, you're still being picky about food at a time like this?"
Yang Mimi said weakly, "Food is the last vestige of human dignity! No matter where you are or what the circumstances, eating should never be compromised."
Looking at her serious expression, Qin Chuan felt that this girl's thought process was indeed quite different from that of normal people.
I'm starving, and I'm still thinking about garlic sauce.
"Okay, I'll take you to get something good to eat. We have a campsite over there, with barbecue, fruit, and fresh water."
Yang Mimi's eyes lit up like light bulbs: "Really? There's barbecue? What kind of meat? How is it barbecued?"
"Wild boar meat. Roasted over firewood."
Do you have any seasonings?
"No."
Yang Mimi's expression fell slightly: "Barbecue without seasoning, what's the difference between that and chewing wood..."
Qin Chuan's lips twitched slightly: "However, the wild boar meat here has a slightly salty taste, which is quite good."
"I'll reluctantly accept, then take me there!"
Qin Chuan first checked her injuries. The abrasions on her hands and feet were superficial and could be easily rinsed with water.
When the bruise on her abdomen was pressed, Yang Mimi hissed, but the pupil examination showed no internal bleeding, so it wasn't a big problem.
Without saying a word, Qin Chuan squatted down, his back to her.
"Come up."
Yang Mimi hesitated for a moment, then climbed onto Qin Chuan's back and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Qin Chuan supported her thighs and stood up.
Yang Mimi isn't heavy, and Qin Chuan's current strength level is 30, so carrying a woman weighing a little over 100 pounds is no problem at all.
"What's your name?" Yang Mimi asked, perched on his back with her chin resting on his shoulder.
"Qin Chuan."
Yang Mimi lay on his back and could feel that the muscles in his shoulders and back were as solid as rocks.
Her face was close to his neck, and she smelled the scent of sweat mixed with sea salt and earth. It wasn't exactly pleasant, but it inexplicably made her feel at ease.
Qin Chuan carried Yang Mimi towards the camp, taking a detour to pick up the mangoes and coconuts they had picked earlier.
Holding the person in both hands, the fruit wrapped in banana leaves could only be held in the mouth by biting the stem of the leaf, which looked quite comical.
"Security guard, what are you holding in your mouth?"
"mango."
"mango?!"
Yang Mimi's voice instantly rose eight octaves, exploding in Qin Chuan's ears.
"I want to eat! Give me one!"
"We'll talk about it when we get back."
"No, I need to eat now! I'm starving!"
"We'll be there soon, just bear with it."
Qin Chuan ignored her and carried Yang Mimi back to the camp. The three women were having breakfast around the campfire.
Lin Shishi was the first to see them and stood up: "Brother Chuan, who is this?"
Qin Chuan put Yang Mimi down from his back and let her sit against a low tree.
"A survivor. Found over at the southern reef."
Fan Yubing leaned closer to look at Yang Mimi's face, then paused, surprised. "I know her, Yang Mimi, that food blogger?"
Yang Mimi smiled weakly: "Yes, it's me. Hello, I'm Yang Mimi. I'm currently starving. Do you have any food?"
Liu Yifei had already handed over a coconut jelly.
Yang Mimi took it, cupped it in both hands, and drank it. Coconut water dripped down her chin, but she didn't bother to wipe it away.
Lin Shishi then handed over a piece of grilled fish and two pieces of mango.
Yang Mimi held a grilled fish in one hand and a mango in the other, taking bites from both sides, her mouth full of food.
The four women sat around the campfire, and the atmosphere suddenly became lively.
After eating a few pieces of grilled fish and three mangoes, Yang Mimi's face finally regained some color. Her eyes darted around, taking in the wooden huts, campfire, clothes hanging out to dry, and food piled up in the camp.
"You guys are living too well on this deserted island, aren't you?"
Fan Yubing leaned against the doorway of the wooden house, legs crossed: "What's so great about it? You're late. I almost starved to death the other day."
"But you have houses to live in! You have barbecue! You have fruit!"
Lin Shishi laughed and said, "Brother Chuan built all of this by himself. He built the house and hunted the wild boar."
Yang Mimi turned to look at Qin Chuan, her eyes wide: "Brother Chuan, you hunted the wild boar all by yourself?"
Qin Chuan sat to the side, whittling a wooden stick with a folding knife: "Hmm."
How big is the pig?
"About three hundred jin."
Yang Mimi's mouth dropped open: "Three hundred jin? That pig weighs three times as much as me... How did you hit it?"
Fan Yubing didn't forget to speak up for Qin Chuan: "He has a system."
"What system?"
The women took turns telling Yang Mimi about the "Many Children, Many Blessings System." Yang Mimi listened in a daze, almost forgetting to chew the mango in her mouth.
