Chapter 1088 1088: Any Difference?
Chapter 1088 1088: Any Difference?
RUMBLE—! TUMBLE—! TREMBLE—!
The whole planet was shaking heavily.
"Ugh… I have done my task. Allow me to rest peacefully already, damn it!"
Tremble!
"Bu-But why is this bed so hard?"
RUMBLE!
"... Why is it even shaking so much? Hey, Kael! If you are the one troubling me, get lost already before I burn you to ash."
TREMBLE!
The shaking grew worse, forcing Grey to snap his eyes open immediately with an irritated scream.
"I said get lo—"
The words hung in his throat as a wave of pain crashed through his entire body, forcing him to let out a yelp of immense agony.
"Huh?"
Touching where he lay, he could feel the earth beneath his palm.
Still in a laid down position, he lifted his head to look into the distance and that was when the whole terrain unfolded before his eyes.
It took a few seconds for his brain to settle.
He recalled the war with the Otherworlders; the teleportation to this strange planet; the battle that followed with his own father; his demon form; Grey's own domain and then the conclusion which consecutively became the death of his father— the leader of the Otherworlders.
Feeling the urge to just close his eyes and go back to sleep, the warrior mage couldn't, as the whole planet was shaking like a leaf out of water.
He groaned loudly in tremendous pain.
Struggling to push himself upward, he finally got to his knees and heaved a tired sigh.
Dirt and grass clung to his bloodied face, but he didn't seem to notice nor care about it at all.
He was more bothered about why the planet was trembling.
Looking around carefully, he could see the earth splitting apart.
It was like a colossal earthquake had just descended on the compact planet, making it shake with such vigour.
Looking closer, he could see the giant craters that littered the terrain were actually the main cause of this phenomenon.
With the majority of the craters, including the one he had just caused with his final blow to Gustav, being too close together for comfort.
He had always known this…
'KIAN Mega Blast' seemed to always affect space and the world around him.
That was how, when he battled the lower echelon ten demon and he had used the technique for the first time, the whole coliseum was ripped apart.
And the same thing was happening here but on a much larger scale, as the craters that were close to each other lost their foundations and then split apart into a more abysmal hollow.
The earth was being cleaved apart.
It was like cracking in a way that an ice cube would when it struck the ground.
Before anything else, it would always be the point of impact that would break off before the other parts followed.
And in this case, the giant craters were the point of impact and by Grey's estimated calculations; the planet would shatter into pieces in about five or six minutes.
More than enough time for him to get off the planet though.
Turning his head around, his eyes widened immediately as a strange phenomenon was taking place that threw him into confusion instantly.
"Wha—?"
His gaze landed where he had blasted Gustav's body into and in that small cracked ground, the headless body was….was…was breaking apart?
No! That wasn't it.
The demon looked to be decaying at a crazy rate while being blown apart by the wind.
'Huh?'
He was terribly confused about why this was happening.
He had fought demons on two different occasions and none of them had turned into ash after being killed, so what was happening to Gustav?
Coughing out a few specks of blood, Grey tore his gaze from the crumbling body to look at his own for a second, seeing the punctures on his body no longer bleeding because he had managed to stop that with his ki.
But the holes were still open and he would need to return back for Vanica to heal him completely.
'Back home…'
He needed to return as fast as possible.
His friends were still in danger of dying at the hands of the Zodiac one.
Groaning in immense pain, Grey staggered to his feet.
Even though a domain drained a mage of all their mana after use, for some reason; he still had enough to open a portal straight to Kiten.
And he was about to do that when he paused.
Something caught his eye.
The body that was turning to ash had already completed its process and, in its place, something shiny could be seen.
"Huh?"
Grey had always been a curious lad right from the start, so when he saw the shiny object, he needed to take a closer look.
As if the dissolving body wasn't shocking enough, now something was in its place?
Grunting and grimacing in pain, Grey dragged his feet forward.
His whole legs felt like lead as he sauntered over.
After a minute of painful pants and dragging his feet, he stopped directly in front of where Gustav's body used to be and then crouched down.
The moment his eyes landed on the shiny object, his gaze sharpened as he looked at it with a stunned expression.
"A-A-A core?"
He fell on his knees confusedly as he looked at the round, gleaming object that was pulsating like it was alive.
Pulsating like the heartbeat of a creature.
"Not only did his body turn to ash, he dropped a core like a beast would? How? This has never happened before, right?"
He had battled two different demons and none of them turned to ash and even left behind a core, so why did Gustav?
What made him so different from the other demons he battled aside from their ranks and the fact that he was an original mage?
"I'm a GodSlayer! A being with power on par with celestials and could even surpass the Gods."
That was what Gustav had said that time.
Looking at the core, his brows furrowed.
"So does that mean that anybody classified as a GodSlayer could drop a core too? I mean that's the only major difference Gustav has with the other demons I battled."
Curiously, he reached out to grab the core when a wave of energy suddenly struck him, causing his pupils to dilate immediately.
"No, No, No, No!"
The energy swirled into him the moment he touched the core and rushed into his body with lightning speed, causing the Supreme Magus to let out a loud scream of pain—unable to move an inch as the pulsating glow on the core dimmed down at an astonishing rate.
